dcstep, Is that a new tire from Dunlop? Or did you man Star Spec?

Hmmm, I said, "Dunlop Direzza Star Spec 275/35-18s."

Could you rephrase the question?

The full name is "Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec" and the model has been around a couple of years, I think.

My bad. I only read the label under the last pic in detail where it said Stat Spec.

Got me excited since there has been a rumor FOREVER that Dunlop was going to finally come out with something new to replace the StarSpecs.

Did you get them at Tire Rack? They've been a little difficult to get the past year other than from TIre Rack.

Oh thanks. I need to fix my caption at Flickr.

Yes, TR had them in stock and shipped immediately.

It may be of interest that I have a local jobber with TR, but his price was only $13 better, which was less than the sales tax that I would have paid through him. Shipping was $77 dollars to Colorado, but my jobber would have charged me that also, because he doesn't stock tires. (He's a used car dealer that orders only as needed).

I want to get these wheels
You said earlier 275 is ideal in 10"
What if I want 255/40 in the front
Would hat be 9.5" or 10"?
I'm aiming for 255/40 front, and 275/40 rear PS2s
Dont want any wider as this is a street setup
Thanks!

255 you should get a 9.5, it'll be a stretch with a 10in.

I am currently running my stock 265/40 and 245/40/18s on Apex ARC 8s in 18 x 9.5/10.5. The tires are the minimum recommended for the widths. They work fine, but they do appear slightly stretched to me. When I replace them, I will go with 255/35 and 275/35 or 265/35 and 285/35. You can find the recommended ranges in the specs section for each tire at the Tire Rack website. The narrow end gives crisper handling than the wider end and in the middle is just right, but there are no potential problems unless you go outside these ranges. Even then, people have gotten away with a lot. BMW has put wider than recommended tires for the wheel diameter from the factory and Chevy has put narrower than recommended from the factory.

I have two spare anthracites 10's if anyone is interested. I'm looking to get 10.5's for the rears instead.

Finally got around to taking some pictures. 10" in front and 10.5" in back. Tires are Nitto NT-05, 275/35R18 in front and 295/35R18 in back.

Thank you
Dying to see 255/35 on 9.5" before I commit
The 275/35 look great on 10"
But on my vmr vb3 19, the 255/35 looks a little stretched

dude .. go for the 275x35x18 square.... it's mean, aggressive and grips like crazy on the track... you just have to deal with a bit of tramlining on some freeways..

But my car has never been on a track, and never will, This is my daily driver
So I don't want to go crazy and get huge tires
I've tried the 255/35f 275/35r rear on my 19s and they are a good balance between comfort and handling
I only went with the apex cuz they are light, and very close to the CSL design, Which I love.

Want to get Michelin pilot super sports

got it.. makes sense.. you're missing out on tons of fun by not tracking it though... most track day organizers run very tight, safety oriented days now .. with passing only by 'let bys' .. etc.

iPhone app doesn't have an edit post button
I'm running nt01 275/35 18s, on 10"wheels. Track only use because I don't want to wear the tires and they are so sticky that too much road debris gets tossed onto the car on our crappy new england roads.
