Ohlins R&T Install Difficulties

Hey guys,

I picked up a set of Ohlins R&T a few weeks ago and attempted to install them yesterday. I ran into a number of issues and just had a few concerns about the installation process. I searched all over the internet and couldn't find an answer. When I was installing the rear spring, I found it weird that the rear spring didn't sit on any of the OEM rubber cups. I installed it following the instructions manual that came with the coils, and the manual states that the spring preload adjuster will be what comes into direct contact with the vehicle body (besides that little rubber seat).

Does the bottom of the spring need to be housed inside the OEM spring cup? It didn't seem like so to me as the spring had a flat edge but I could very much be wrong. If anybody has pictures or instructions or any thoughts about this please help.
