Frustrated with crappy spray bottles
Can someone recommend a quality spray bottle for detailing? I'm getting sick of various brands' bottles developing leaks, handles breaking, or just completely ceasing to spray after a month or two. I'm not even hard on these things -- they just stop working. I understand that everything eventually wears out, but it seems absurd to have to replace spray bottles several times a year.
Tried the Chemical Guys ones and they also broke after maybe a dozen uses.

Ive found the Kwazar Mercury Pro sprayer from Chemical guys has been pretty good. It has a dual action sprayer so you can spray a lot easily. I only have 2 of them because they are a bit pricey. Most of the time I just use Home Depot spray bottles as they're cheap.
What are you spraying? If it is things like wheel cleaners and other acidic type of cleaners, it will eat the sprayers. I find even the acid resistant sprayers go bad with these cleaners.

Yes, I guess it's acidic stuff/cleaners. The Sonax bottles have always held up well, but pretty much everything else leaks. Heck, my Einszett interior cleaning spray, which is extremely mild, stopped spraying after the fourth or fifth application. They sent me a replacement but that broke too. I have heard that the Griot's sprayers are excellent, and they're pretty cheap -- 3 bottles + 3 heads is like $20.

P&S bottles work great in our shop environment, they last at least a year of constant use.

I can't say I've had a problem with most sprayers that the chemicals come with. Besides wheel cleaners, I haven't had a problem with sprayers failing. Even things like Iron X work fine with the sprayers it comes with. I mostly use spray bottles to spray mixtures of ONR and other QD or spray wax stuff.

I go through about 1L of Iron-X a year, and the included sprayer seems to last just as long. CarPro sells their own brand of empty bottles that I would hope are solid, but the Griot's stuff is so cheap and well-regarded that it's hard to pass up.

Surprisingly I had luck with cheapo spray bottles I picked up at a local hardware/gardening store that are chemical resistant. I got 4 of them at $2 each and currently using them for sonax, detailer spray, and wheel shine (wheel shine spray bottle broke). Bottle with the sonax has been in used for over a year and no leaks or anything. I wash my car once every two weeks on average.

Same issue as you. Went with the Griots bottles and never looked back. Great trigger and spray pattern.
My Adam’s bottles seem to be holding up as well. |

Griots are great and I like having the larger size bottles. Now that I know the bottles work, I can start buying chemicals by the gallon and refilling.

Griots bottles and sprayers are good. Fat base for stability. Narrow neck for easy handling. Long throw sprayers so you can dispense a lot of product.

Another voice in support of the Griot's sprayers in both the smaller and larger size. Seem to be a different level of quality (and a bit more expensive of course).

My order showed up: two small bottles with two compact sprayers, and one large bottle with the "finest" sprayer. The bottles are a bit flimsier than I expected but the sprayers feel stout. I'll reply back to this thread after I put them through their paces.

I bought a 3-pack of Harris Chemical Resistant Sprayer bottles via Amazon. But have only used once, and that with water.
Great sprayer action, though. I'll report back in a while after some use with wheel cleaner.
