The battery options

Hi guys!

My car just got 86k miles I think it will be nice to change the battery now! My car do not have idrive I wonder is there any other battery that is lighter than OEM battery but can still use as daily driver? Appreciate all helps!

could get a lighter redtop battery if you get the bimmerworld kit to install it.

You can go to a smaller reserve AGM battery like mentioned above. You can also switch up the chemistry and look at Lithium options from companies like Braille, Deka, Antigravity, Odyssey. Having had a lithium on my R1200GSA, there are pros and cons to the lithium options so just do some research.

I went with the Antigravity. Direct bolt in and uses the factory mounting points. Ended up saving 43lbs over the stock battery.

Antigravity has nice options like its own integrated START partition in which you'll never be stuck with a dead battery again.

Simply press a button on the battery or remote and you have your own jumpstarter - no cables needed.
