Opinion on these Apex wheels on a SG e90M

I found these from a contact locally... Almost new, only used for a few months but fitment isn't working on his m4. I have a space grey e90, but can't decide if this color is too similar to the cars pant and will look off.. it's a good deal, so would love any input before I pull the trigger.

I think it'll look great! Sizes are perfect for e90 too! Some real bmw center caps will spice them up a little too..

Although just saw 265/35/19 fronts not sure that 35 profile on the front won't rub..

Here's a forum members, I like them better than the 220's, I think you could go either way with silver or the proposed grey.

Thanks! Price is $1400 for the wheels with tires, so it's a steal (I think).. going to try to get them next week if I can make it there.

Yep that is a good deal.. if that tread is correct on the tires then they are like new.. I have the ps7's same size on my e92 with a 275/30/19 front and it rubs a little on lock.. cars lowered though.. you can just see where it rubs in pic

you the man, thanks. Are these tires decent enough or are they pretty much shit compared to PS4s?

I have no experience with pirelli zeros on cars.. I run the corsa 2's on my street bikes and absolutely love them. I'm sure they'll be fine for daily use.

Couple of thoughts:

1) Those tire tread depths aren't correct. New, they would be 10/32s.

2) The 265/35-19 up front will likely rub the fender liner as it is two sizes larger in diameter than stock fitment. The 275/30-19 example shown that is rubbing the liner is actually smaller in diameter than the stock 245/35-19 by a bit. In other words prepare for potentially major rubbing issues up front.

3) The PS4S thoroughly trounced the Pzero PZ4 in Tirerack's testing.

4) New EC-7s in those sizes are $1390 right now as they have the front wheels on sale.

5) Check the TPMS they have installed compatibility with the E9x M3...I doubt the F8x TPMS work on the E9x, but I'm not sure.

I'd opt for buying new in the color you want, but if not, make the deal without the tires.

I think the colour would go great with SG, especially with the little carbon bits you have as well.

No kidding, they look wonderful with SG in that picture. Almost makes me wonder if I should have gone with that wheel color instead of Race Silver on my SSII M3.

Also when I bought the EC7s in those widths/offsets, I went with the PS4S in 255/35-19 and 275/35-19. I debated whether to go to 275/30 and 295/30, and decided that I preferred the nice taught response of the 9.5/10.5 on the 255/275 combination. At stock ride height I also felt the 275/295 would look a bit off (not to mention they are smaller in diameter than the stock sizes even).

I need to take some more pictures of the car with these wheels, but here is one I have handy.

Hey, that's my old car!
How did you like the anthracite on SG?

I just bought them (pick up sometime next week) for 900.. he showed me the receipt from 3 months ago when he got them, and he hasn't driven them much at all... so, I think I got a good deal.. now I just have to find some tires to get them on.

Full disclosure: I worked at APEX at the time and was only rocking the wheels for that photoshoot. Keep in mind, the photo you posted was shot under “ideal” lighting conditions in a professional studio, so YMMV. I would try to find some more real world photos that accurately portray the color better.

My main set was 18x10 square ARC-8 in Hyper Silver as I was tracking the car. I am partial to silver wheels (or red - see my avatar) on SG for the contrast, but it’s all personal opinion. I think they will look great and that fitment (with proper tire sizes for the E90 chassis) is spot on. $900 would be a pretty sweet deal IMO. Good luck!

really appreciate the input. I think at the price, it's worth the risk on color.. but I get what you mean about the lighting and ideal conditions. But they didn't look terrible in real world setting... right? I guess worst case scenario, I can swap back to the 220s and sell them for close to break even... I hope I'm not wrong tho!

I backed out of the deal... too much risk on the color with the paint according to others on here. glad I didn't make an expensive mistake.

If you want a set of immaculate 10x18 ARC8s, hyper silver, I'm going to be putting them up for sale. Currently mounted with slightly used RE-71Rs (12 autox runs plus ~500 road miles), 275/35-18. A much different setup than you're looking for with the staggered 19s and PS4S, but great on course/track. They have TPMS for 2011 also.

I'm also considering selling tires separately also. Ad coming this weekend.
