MCR67 is a scammer
He messaged me responding to to my WTB Post I made looking for Carbon Trim for an E90. He had me email him and sent me pics. We made a deal and he asked for payment via Zelle to a woman's email address and said it was his wife and I did it. I was not aware there was no fraud protection with Zelle so that is on me. Lesson learned, only use PayPal.
He gets back to me the next day saying the shipping company is requiring a $100 additional payment for insurance because of Covid which I immediately took as a red flag. He asks me to pay some random person using the Cash App. I have an email thread going back and forth and nothing he is saying makes sense so I ask him for my money back and he tells me he will send it but never did. I've been in touch with my bank but don't expect to get my money back. Very frustrating but seems like this is a typical scam...sucks that there are people like this. This was the first time I've been duped after more than 20 years of buying and selling car parts online...lesson learned. |

Trace him and break his knee-caps, make sure he won't walk right ever again in his life.

PayPal only. Any other form of payment is suspicious in my opinion. Wouldn't send money any other way unless it was a friend or family

I have an email thread with him too. He was trying to sell me camber plates as well and too many details didn't add up. He wanted me to use zelle or only friends and family paypal to his "wife's" paypal account, who was apparently named Omar. Looks like he is from Texas, if what he said about his location is true.

Did you have a WTB post for the camber plates?
He sent me pictures which now in hindsight must have been taken from somewhere else and not his...his email address was wlisa1056@gmail.com and the name was CMSwift Rosenau, the signature in the email was Michael Charlene Rosenau. His account was opened in December and he posted a few times, it seemed legit enough until it didn't and then things just did not add up but I'm eager for carbon fiber trim which i've been looking for for months so I was seeing it all through rose colored glasses and wanted it to be real! He had my send a payment to Civilsmary779@gmail.com, Mary Civils. I gave him shipping address and screen shot of the transaction (hope he doesn't come and rob me!). Then he asked for another payment to the Cash app user $precious090. The final straw was when I considered splitting the $100 insurance and he agreed and wanted me to send another $50 to $KaylaFreyre, Kayla Freyre who he said was an employee of his after I asked what happened to his wife, Mary Civils. I'd like to move on, it was only a few hundred dollars but man it burns. |

Same guy (EDJ63 screen name) tried the this scam on me from a WTB exhaust post I made. I asked him to write his name and date on a piece of paper and photograph the part.... he photoshopped a piece of paper onto an existing picture and tried to pass it off as real! Ill bet he spent a ton of time photoshopping it, as it looked 80% good

That photoshop is not too bad, he even got the shadows of the paper but neglected to put the date! I too thought of asking him to add a piece of paper with his name in front of the parts.
I'm pretty sure this is a team of people in Nigeria or something. |

I asked him to write my username on a piece of paper with the date and send pictures of the plates boxed up. He agreed initially and the next day he said "My wife doesnt want to remove the camber plates from the coilovers until payment is confirmed" and I just said thanks but no thanks at that point.

I posted my WTB: M3 OEM shifter. This person replied my post and left an email wlisa1956@gmail.com. He is showing me a picture of a BMW shifter with 328i part number. I asked him if this is indeed for M3 and told him it looks like for 328i. He replied that this is for M3 and ask for $60. A true hard working scammer.

Another one here. I see them constantly as I have a few WTB ad's up in different places right now. If it seems too good to be true it probably is. These messages tend to all looks the same and I have seen a bunch of them now so usually just report. The no-posts or very few posts is always a red-flag.
When in doubt, always read post history

Just for future reference, call your bank and tell them someone stole your phone or something. They will 100% refund you if they think your account was stolen. Really depends if you're willing to lie to your bank.

Solid advice. So if you get scammed by someone, you should turn around and scam your own bank?
