Pretty good for just a tune and e85 mix. He did say the power was dropping off at 7000 rpms (before redline) which would indicate the turbos were running out of breath/tapped out. With some bolt on's and a upgraded intercooler, maybe they can get some more power...

I wouldn't run my turbos at the max though, they most likely won't last long...

Nice but wouldn't this be more well suited in the F8x section?

E92 I'll get obliterated by stock, let alone tune f80z shocking how underrated BMW is getting. Its getting quite ridiculous and is well beyond factoring in performance in all conditions as an wxplanation

+1! May work on the streets, but at the track, after a lap, the ecu will quickly figure out what's going on= Code: 30FE/3100 Engine Malfunction Reduced Power

Most people don't track with traction control off so for them these performance figures are meaningless since the computer will cut power as soon as the wheels slip. For those going tc off, good luck controlling the rear end when rolling on the power before or even just after the apex.

Are you saying it's going to be hard to control due to the turbo lag?

Given I ride a 200hp street bike around the track without traction control or abs which weighs 600 lbs with rider which equates to 3 lbs /hp as long as the 3600lb m3 stays under 1,200 hp I think I'll manage.

I think only novices track with traction control on? If the BMW traction control were more sophisticated and could be set to be less invasive it may work but as u say the traction control kicks in too early and makes the car boring to drive. With it on it feels like the engineers from Germany are driving the car vs myself.

Couldn't agree more. Tried, proven, reliable, and still an 8300+ RPM v8. No i6 can compare (sorry F8x folks).

Now put this thread in the F8x forum where it belongs. Lol.

its a shame how much power these turbo motors can make with tuning. People get blinded by the numbers to even care about other parts of what makes a engine great.

It's not a shame...I think it's great for the BMW tuning scene. I had a n54 before and the turbo motors are really fun.
Having said that...I'm going to keep my supercharged s65 for a while

Turbo lag??? Um no turbo lag does not make the car hard to control on corner exit. I'm referring to the almost 600 tq that kicks in at 1800 rpm.
