If you only fill with 8.5L of oil and do a drive cycle, you can add a bit later. The oil does not have to hit the max mark, just anywhere in between.

When it hits the low mark, it's 1L of oil.
Unless your oil sensor is shot.
The computer would say +1qt. So I add 1 qt. Then it likes to change its mind and then say overfilled. I finally got to the point where I just add a 1/2 qt and it goes from +1qt to 3/4 full.

You might need a new sensor at your next oil change.
Not saying my car is better than yours however, my car told me to add a quart ,I did, and then it was at full.

Nobody has mentioned yet that Carly app can now even code CiC/idrive...Dvd in motion and I drive disvlaimer...You need the new Gen 2 official BMWhat WiFi (iOS) / Bluetooth (Android) dongle to code CiC,.

For clearing/reading codes...or monitoring engine parameters in real-time I use Torque Pro app(ONLY ON ANDROID) with a $20 Bluetooth dongle off amazon...

Dash Command for iOS w elm327 cheap wifi dongle....

Favorite benefit of the obd2 adapters is using apps like "Track addict" app...to take 1080p videos with guage overlays...so whwn setup right your track vids can have a speedometer, tach throttle position, current gear (for MT only) lateral g forces, etc...

If you find something that will disable TPMS, please share. I'm living with the nagging with my winter wheel setup, but I wouldn't mind turning it off.

I downloaded all these programs. Why? After reading numerous posts related to a brake bleeding issue, I saw that I could use one of these programs to perform a brake bleeding process that included cycling ABS to help clear some stubborn air in my system. I loaded a couple of these programs and setup a VM to run GT1 with the thought that I could use an old ODB cable I used on my Acura but it doesn't seem to work. After further reading, I realize now these cables are not simply an interface between the OBD plug on my car and my USB port on my computer and I need to use a more specific OBD cable.

I'm sure there are many different types of cables that will work, but is there one that will work with all (most?) of the programs I listed. Interfacing so that I can run a brake bleeding program (and cycle the ABS) is my main goal.

TIA for those that respond.

From the top pf my head, with carly you can do:

-In depth diagnosis
-life parameter read out ( exact oil level value )
-session log file's
-in app help feature
-Carly idrive coding
-Digital Garage ( gives you an overall car health overview ) By saving of all CEL's you have an better overview of your car health status.
-Coding in general ( hidden menues, rear light LCI upgrades, aftermarket front rear light upgrade coding, etc...)
-Battery registration
-Service reset
-DPF on the fly regeneration and live log value readout
Unlimited license for DPF regeneration

Never came around such an powerful Scantool in my enthusiast life, ever.

The Carly App also has all manuals installed on your smart phone for coding, diagnosing, battery registration and so on.

Life long guarantee on all electronic components of your OBD 2 WIFI adapter!

Carlys support is not only limited to BMW.
Carly also supports brands in diagnosing and coding as:
MB
VW
Audi
Seat
Skoda
Porsche

does anyone know if the apps and tools mentioned above have the ability to reset dct adaptations?

Lifetime warranty on all electr. components of the OBD2 WIFI dongle is just one thing. Using it for battery registering and coding your car along with reading and clearing codes, the other.
But the main features that impressed me personally were two things:
* Exact motor oil reading value ( no more overfilling )
* Carly in app help feature ( car related issues ) that's for free from the second of your purchase.
Along of course with the 5 Euro savings when using the coupon code. ( check out my sig )
I'm a very long time in this car game but never had an scan tool device as Carly.
Iam very happy with it and definately not the only one
are you the vendor for the carly app?

Hello all, just to confirm pricing,

iCarly OBD2 ($70 on their site ($83 off amazon))
iCarly Pro App ($50 off app store)
iCarly in app purchases ($?)

so all in all about $130+ for this setup. Is it still the go to setup? I just want to ensure this is the most well rounded/bang for your buck route to run diagnostics and reset codes.

Much appreciated!

This is your biggest bang for your buck, you could ever get for your car.
Saved all of us a freaking truck load of money and so it will for you

You won‘t be able to order ( state side ) over their ivini-tech site. Carly is located in munich germany.
Thats why you have the option to do so over amazon.
But
BEFORE you place your amazon order ,
send this 5 Euro coupon code

4ZECQD

to trainer@mycarly.com
Explain in your email from wich amazon you'd prefer to order (US/UK/Canada/UAE)

Then wait for Carlys reply containing your "special" 5€ coupon code.

Was just about to pull the purchase on the Carly until I found out about their subscription service (that is just implemented since Mar 19) - no more one time purchase of their app. Its $110cdn for the adapter then $80cdn each and every year after that!!! Sorry but $180 for something I can use years down the road is ok, but $180 for something I can only use one year is not, even if I don't subscribe every year, if I have a problem a few years down the line, I am only entitled one fault scan with their "Lite" app and have to pay another $80cdn just to get the "Full" version again just for that year. Argh! I hate rentals, if I buy something, I expect it to work more than a year.

What about the Creator C310+? I am more interested in diagnosing engine codes when I get a EML light and finding out whats wrong than coding some new feature.

I just did the exact same thing - I saw several posts extolling the virtues of the Carly but I wanted it faster than shipping from Europe. I found it on Amazon and that's where I discovered the BS pricing model via angry customer reviews.

Carly does Toyota too!

I paid for the full version of the Carly BMW and bluetooth dongle. Other than slow connection I've been happy with it.

Got an email from them about their newly developed Toyota version in beta and since I have a Lexus and Toyota also I installed and played around with it. The same OBD I used with my M3 works fine!

When the final version came out I bought it.

I should add that I bought the Carly BMW when it was 1 price for the life of the app, not subscription. I wouldn't have bought it if it was the subscription version.

Would you mind expounding a bit more on this device? I assume you can read codes with it. Can you clear them? Is there a subscription service required? I saw a review on it that mentioned something to that effect...? Carly sounds great, but pretty pricey. If this thing truly does all you need, then it seems a no-brainer, to me.
