Alex almost got his head cut off.
David of course went to apologize for almost killing him.

Now we wait 3 weeks for the next race?

Ya, what's the deal with the 3 week wait. They probably already have the stuff air freighted to Malaysia. I know for the Nort American races they send shipping containers with gear and extra stuff months ahead of time and only air freight the last few mods and such the week of the GP.

Just read this...

I hate Kimi speeches, but I was surprised to see his air punching as he crossed the finish line, is something new to him. Still he ran a good clean race, I was quite impressed.

I have high hopes for Lewis Hamilton for the season.

Notice him on the podium?
he drank from the bottle before doing the spraying.
maybe he should take longer sips until the bottle is half empty, then do the spraying, and then go to press conference.

Donny we should plan a road trip to Indi.

Sure why not?

I missed so many opps to catch the F1 circus in Sepang

Wrt Kimi, I am curious to see how he'll develop personally under Jean Todt. Alonso is definitely the more polished of the podium winners, his demeanour is almost Schumacher-ish. Sure miss hearing the german anthem at the podium though.

I was laughing at this week's Autoweek magazine's 'seperated at birth' section on how similar Kubica looks to South Park's Timmy It was funny and mean...

I would be awesome at the post-race interview, if I were a F1 Driver.

"Yeah, I totally owned these two (points to both sides). I ROCK!"

So i am going to venture and ask this question which might sparked a nuclear reaction. Kimi won the race in his first ever Ferrari. And we know how dominant Ferrari has been. I know Alonso won the last 2 champions. But Alonso was right there again in second place for this race. So, is Kimi really that good or is it the Ferrari? Why are ppl giving Kimi so much credit and it is only his first race in a Ferrari or maybe I am

Would someone shine some light on this matter.

Cause Kimi won by freaking seven seconds! I mean the Ferraris are no doubt top machines, but MP4-22s are nearly as quick, if not just as fast.

I hate how reserved the drivers are when they are interviewed, even Alonso is like that. Hamilton showed some signs of being human though. It would be hilarious if Kimi was like Ferrari pwns you.

Both Kimi and Ferrari are good! - Hence the result - team sport.

There was never any doubt over whether Kimi is fast. The doubt was his consistency, his ability to be a team player, his maturity/professionalism and his luck (always an important factor).

Kimi's first outing is an impressive one for fans as it helped answer the many questions. He ran a good clean and consistent race. This also shows that he has made some ways on gelling with the team. He seems to have formed a relationship with Jean Todt and Schumi's race engineer and he seems to be comfortable with the team and vice versa.

But beyond Kimi, Ferrari's new car is looking good save for Massa's mechanical problems. I say the Ferrari is back on pace. Their controversial long wheel base configuration seems to be paying off in terms of tire wear.

I don't see Kimi as a "team" driver. Seemed kind of like he was sand-bagging Massa and then waiting to show his true pace. My feeling is that Kimi will continue the season winning as many races as he possibly can and not give a rats ass about the constructor's championship.

Too early to say, but I think it'll be a battle between Kimi and Alonso for driver's. But that the constructor's will easily go to McLaren. Kimi will be to erratic in his search for himself that he won't bring home points when needed.

Which is fine. F1 needs an unapologetic self centered *driver* again.

I'm hoping for great things from Lewis since he can actually communicate emotion without feeling the need to be robotic.

oblu +1 on Lewis, as mentioned, I have my eyes on him.

I also agree that McLaren will have a good chance at the constructor's this year, the Alonso & Hamilton team will ensure many consistent points.

As you mentioned, its too early to tell. From Australia, it looks like Kimi is getting along well with the Ferrari team, better at least than he was at McLaren. This is important as Ferrari is an 'emotional' team. Under Jean Todt's stewardship and the new car, I won't doubt a consistent performance by Kimi for 2007.

Australia's always wacky. This year is the only one I can remember where the people that should ended up on the podium. Wasn't a Toyota actually up there last year?

Ferrari is my pick, but damn, if the season opener is any clue, this year's grid will be very tight!

I believe so, the next round at Sepang will be the first real indication of the new car's reliability as well as tire economies. The heat in Sepang will also filter out the stronger drivers. But pretty much this season's openers is in line with most people's expectations/speculations.
