V1 and Lidatek Jammer Install

I had a V1 and Lidatek from my previous E46 M3 which I had used for about 4 years and started doing research on a new system once I got the new M3, but I have decided to keep my old system. Eventhough I hear that the high end Passport will give less false alarms, I really don't care about that. I have gotten used to my V1 and I just mute it when I'm around shopping centers. Besides the speeding tickets I'm worried about are not around those areas.

I was going to go with the Blinder but honestly I don't feel like having my bumper take off, besides the Lidatek has served me well. It has saved me at least 5 times in the past 4 years so I just don't see why I need to upgrade. Now when I get my new Ericsson bumper, then I can consider it.

Install was done by Chris A from performancetechnik.com in MD, he did a very clean install.

nice!

I have a V1 installed and my LE-30 is still sitting in the box unused from my previous M3. Does your single vertical transponder work well in the grill area? I may just do the install in the summer.

I wonder why Lidatek no longer exists. I assume the LE-30 is still good.

On the vertical sensor mount in the front grill...is the sensor flush with the front side of the grill or is recessed a bit. Also does the vertical mounting in the grill affect the performance since the sensor isn't perfectly vertical. Those grill "slats" aren't perfectly level...they slant to one side a bit.

You also mentioned the Blinder and having to remove the bumper. The Blinder sensors can be installed vertically or horizontally so they could be installed behind the grills like your Lidatek. I just ordered the Blinder M25 X-Treme with the Cheetah Wireless Fit Kit Combo, both for $469 with free shipping. The wireless kit does away with drilling holes and tearing apart the dash to install. It's wireless from under the hood to the cabin of the car, with a remote for on and off. It makes it easy to turn off the unit after a few seconds so the cops don't get suspicious.

Great install BTW....Very nice set-up.
