I appreciate the visual. Thanks! Next question, would you be willing to share the design of the prototype air ducts you were working on for the tray (if you've decided to shelve that project, totally understand if not) or sell me a set of them on a prototype basis?

Why does Zolgensma drug cost $2.1M per patient? Why do parts for an M car cost more than a non-M car? Because R&D / capital investment are sunk costs and your potential market is small. So it requires a larger dollar sale price to break-even and make a profit.

The humps are there for a reason...aero. They help direct and smoothen air flow around the tires. Just wanted to set the record straight.

I'm not sure what your point is, unless you can convince another company to make trays for the E9x M3 for the same price as the Z market. There's just simply aren't enough people with an e9x M3 that desire a tray enough for a company to spend time R&D and manufacture. Sure you can make this yourself and save $50, but by the time you source the metal, work with a machine shop, source the screws, and high temp rubber trim... How much is your time actually worth? What Mporium solves are 2 things: Offer a more durable tray for OEM's fragile felt tray pricing and offer more ground clearance compared to OEM. Another company that makes a similar tray is Mumbray Motorsport at 320 EU + massive shipping fee from the UK. The OEM felt is $400 which sits too low and doesn't last more than 2yrs.

See @offaxis OEM tray. Doesn't look so aerodynamic to me. Mine was cracked and flappy, so no thanks to felt.

Just to be clear though, you don't have to spend $400 on a BMW felt tray, if you only break one of the three parts.
The center trays can be had for $240, with a lifetime warranty from FCP. https://www.fcpeuro.com/BMW-parts/M3...ds=51757899820 Or $185 from Turner. https://www.turnermotorsport.com/BMW...tt=51757899820 Right: https://www.fcpeuro.com/BMW-parts/M3...ds=51757896420 https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-1...-front-e9x-m3/ Left: https://www.fcpeuro.com/BMW-parts/M3...ds=51757896419 https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-1...-front-e9x-m3/

I must be missing something. Is that huge gap on each side expected? I didn't push it in all the way so I can get a better picture of the issue.
Pretty sure I checked the box for "remedial DIY instructions" but got the regular instructions instead. |

Yes it is normal to have an air gap on both sides. A flat replacement panel cannot follow all of the contours of these bumpers. The openings allow additional air to be split off for brake and exhaust cooling, and creates additional scavenging for air flowing through the main radiator.

I’ve had this tray on my car for 2 years and it’s fantastic. Would recommend for all M3’s.

Second post that says this. If it is for Aero then why is the GTS spoiler/tray flat just like this? I will stick with the flat MPorium tray.

Im not too happy with my tray but I guess it works?? Mine and a few others seem to hit an oil line on the passenger side. I resorted to wrapping the contact point. I'm not sure if this is a specific issue with our cars or by design. Also couldn't get any of the front bottom bumper screw that hold the oem tray on as this tray is very rigid and seemed no.way to attach without bending bumper severely. Just my honest feedback.
