I tested it first thing when I got the car back. The light stays persistent to the last position I had it. |

BMW just released a new DME update very recently (Sometime around March 2015). Mine was updated originally around July 2014. Just had it in for something minor and the tech offered to update it. It was the only module that had any updates this time around.
BIG change in cold running performance. Not nearly as much surging or hesitation. Car runs like a dream now. |

Is it guaranteed if the dealer updates the software for the auto start/stop "last user mode" feature that all software modules will be updated (and thus get me to 240E)?
I'm considering asking for that fix as well as the "shift lights always on" fix (if applicable to my 2011.75 iDrive E92, not sure if this was fixed yet by that MFG date) just to be sure I get an update. |

Change a SA lol. But there is a bulletin out so you can show it to them. They'll of course say some BS that it's not an official bulletin yadda yadda. It's possible they don't get paid much for it but maybe you also need an alignment or some paid service.

I just tried to justify the software update by requesting auto-start/stop as well as complaining about cold start issues (which do exist on my car, IMHO). My SA said that the auto-start/stop TSB does not apply to my car (6/11 build), as it only applies to build dates 9/11 later. I'm pretty sure it's the other way around.
The other thing they keep telling me is that I have the latest software, which is false because the key reader print out indicates that mine is E89X-11-03-510 (200E) and also states that a new integration level is available. The dealer clearly doesn't want to hear what I'm requesting. I don't have time to hang around there and build relationships with the service manager or lead tech, so it looks like a coder or tuner will be getting my money at some point. |
