I could not resist the $142 price of the 2017 GoodyearEAGLE F1 ASYMMETRIC 3 - SIZE: 285/30R19 on tire rack.

So I got two more before I had a chance to try the first two.

It will be interesting to compare the two tires, GY Asym 3 and the PS91. Both are not top rated tires, but both comes at the size that almost run square and is a bit smaller diameter than the rear 295.

Perhaps this would be good enough. There is a point were I want to fix my tire choices and focus on maximize performance at reasonable price

So far the 295/30/19 Proxes RR meet my requirements. Inexpensive, fast, confident inspiring, last about 3 to 4 trackdays at NYST.

Luckily I am getting to the end of the selection process for the fronts

Oversteer 1
Rear tires too much air, not enough temp.

Yeah the rear broke loose really fast, your throttle application wasn't even that high.

I watched my data and video and I had about same throttle and steering angle with no issues. I had Hoosiers though.

When I dropped pressure to 35 hot it worked well, but my confidence was not there anymore.

I was curious to know what the cold pressure was, so I drove home as is and checked the next morning. It was on 27psi cold.

So If I leave my house on public road PSI of 35 cold, I should drop 7psi when I get to LRP.

For NYST I can try the same, but I think NYST will overheat the tires this low pressure.

I am guessing that the issue was more the tire temp and less the pressure. At 38psi my tires were on 130f and when I dropped the pressure Ingot the rear to 150-160

Ogh, it never ends.....

Can you post a screenshot of the AIM data from when that happened? Show the speed, accelerator, brake, and steering angle channels. If you can also do yaw, that would help.

I don't think it's a huge problem since you were able to catch it, but you're losing time because you can't get back to full throttle as early as you want.

Is it the mismatched tires, the mismatched suspension, or the rear PSI... guess we'll need the data to determine.

Yes it is. But by the forth session it got sorted out and the car was fine. It was a slow setup, but not because the mismatch. I drove the last two sessions with DSC=off and was running 1:06-1:07 many times in traffic.

On the third session I did 1:05.97. Not fast by any means but given DSC=off, traffic and after Auto-X in the morning it I was happy to get home with a shinny car.

Limerock always looks like one of the most fun short tracks there is. Seems like there are a few places you could go down a gear and be faster?

Nice driving! Is this a Gopro or smarty? You mind sharing the setup as I need to do something similar.

Also, are you in race suit ? Don't forget those gloves and visor

I don't see a need for gloves.

I know what I need to do, but with street tires I need some margin of error until I feel at home at LRP like I feel at NYST. I was more comfortable doing 1:01 with RR and R7 take off than doing 1:05 in these tires. I still have three more trackdays scheduled at LRP and my plan for Sep 8 is Proxes RR in the back and Cup2 on the front.

My next day on Aug 24th is Palmer. New track for me.

Definitely a 3rd and 4th gear track if you don't have to worry about getting gas, replacing the engine, or going into limp mode. I believe I can get below 60 sec using 4 and 5 and take less risk.

I don't feel power is the issue at the moment.

Regarding gloves / visor. Figured if you're wearing a suit it's to protect from a fire? Burnt face and or hands will definitely slow you down from getting out of a burning car.

I am not THAT dedicated.
My Profi SPL seat is so narrow it pulls my shirt up, the suit helps keeps everything in place.

Besides, after 15 years on a Ducati I feel vulnerable without a suit.

Vulnerable and yet invincible with a 3500 lbs cage around you vs Ducati! Haha
