anyone here use the Sparco helmet drying bag or any other form of helmet drying?

I'm trying to preserve my new helmet and not have it turn into what my 5 year old helmet ended up like; brown on the inside.

Yup! It's awesome and highly recommended. Gets little USB battery to store in the bag.

Also get a little spray bottle and mix with Gear Aid ReviveX Odor Eliminator. Spray the inside at the end of the day, pack the helmet and let the fans run for a couple hours.

This ritual = fresh helmet for years.

What does Odor eliminator do?
I just keep it in the blue bag the helmet came with and seems to be ok.

Do you wear balaclavas? I do and haven’t had an issue with moisture in helmets.

Yeah. That's another alternative.

But my helmet literally smells fresh and clean. Not just sterile. Even after ~ 5000 track miles in Colorado's 95 degree summers.

I use it for AT ski boots, wetsuits, climbing shoes, etc. All of which generally reek. It's cheap and sold in concentrate. 1.5oz is supposed to be diluted in something like 50 gallons of water. So the concentrate lasts forever compared to the Motorsport specific solutions like "molecule".

Website copy.

Rather than just hiding or masking bad odors, this concentrated blend of water-activated microbes safely removes the bacteria causing the smell
Effectively eliminates odor causing bacteria from mildew, mold, pets and perspiration on most fabrics including neoprene, fleece and cotton
Biodegradable solution of 10 microbial elements penetrates into the pores of fabric, rubber and even hard surfaces to eliminate odor naturally
Fast, effective and completely safe for the environment, leaving only carbon dioxide and water as by-products
Ideal for cleaning hundreds of items including PFDs, wetsuits, tents, backpacks, outerwear, athletic clothes, footwear and pet items

Balaclava is the way to go imo. It's a bit of pain at first and hotter, but you get used to it. But you can just throw in the wash whenever and not worry about sweating directly in your helmet.

So I had a funny incident last time I had my car out at the track...I was sliding slightly exiting a turn and all of the sudden throttle completely cut out and threw me into a tank slapper...turns out my shifter boot, which had one side of the plastic ring broken, had wiggled loose, spun ~90 degrees, and hit the DSC button, switching DSC on in middle of the turn! Damn nannies trying to kill me!

I started wearing mine and it is much better. I actually sweat less and my hair is less crackheadish when I take off my helmet off.

Another vote for balaclava wearing to prolong helmet life, plus its a good safety item in general anyway. The sprays or even something as simple as a dryer sheet in the helmet after an event is a good add on too.

Why not get a $20 portable fan off amazon and keep using whatever bag you have? No need to waste money, just put the portable fan in there and leave it out of the bag until its dry
