Fidelity (or similar) powertrain warranty & RBs

Hi,

I know there’s plenty of threads on aftermarket warranties but most seem to go for Platinum, I’m looking at getting an e9x and really mostly concerned about RB failure.

Does anybody know if the basic powertrain warranty from Fidelity, or similar, will cover a rod bearing failure? From the documentation I have right online I can’t see any reason why it wouldn’t, just thought I’d ask in case anybody had any insight.

Thanks for any input!

If you are intent on spending money on a warranty, why not repurpose that money to fix the problem in the first place? Why do you want to wait for the failure to occur and then fight a warranty company over it?

I work at a dealership and regularly see the inspector that comes out for several insurance companies including fidelity.

Most likely you'll be covered when the engine is locked up or making obvious noise. Imho

Fwiw I've asked this same guy if he ever had an s65 motor blow and he told me "no".

I work near DC and he frequents the BMW dealership where I took my m3 before my warranty expired.

Maybe because something other than the rod bearings might fail?
