On a side note, I just saw the video of your Meisterschaft GT2 and Challenge sport x-pipe setup. made the mistake of wearing headphones. Think I went deaf for a few seconds
yes they are the same adapters

If you think the slip-on sounds great but want more sound, then Evo. It delivers plenty more sound, especially as you increase the revs, which is where the slip-on is lost.

Thank you guys. Listened to a bunch of Akra EVO videos and liked everything about it except the slight rasp and tin can sound around 3500-4k rpm. I really disliked the rasp on my E46M as well. I eliminated the Eisenmann Race based on the Drone. Still keeping the Akra Slip-on but going with the challenge sport x-pipe after listening to this video. Think this is what I may be looking for here is hoping for the best........

Yeah, I think that's a pretty accurate representation of the general sound.

Keep in mind it sounds to me like a separate microphone very close to the exhaust pipes is used in those videos, which makes everything a little exaggerated, especially the overall volume. Inside the car the exhaust will be quieter, but with the same general tones you hear in the video.

IMO test pipes with the Akra slip on (my set up) sounds almost identical to the full Akra evolution... So you could save some money there... Of course you say you have to pass emissions, so if you went test pipes, you'd also need to buy a stock x pipe to swap out come inspection time.

I never let go of stock parts. Will keep the stock pipe. But yes I agree going with another x pipe would work out well.

Exhausts are very personal, bliss to someone is hell to another... threads on the internet are useless...

Was it that boomy resonance down in 2,000 rpm that rattles your head and makes you eardrums feel like they're bleeding? I'm curious as I am looking at exhaust systems myself.

Hi,

If you couple E race with with stock x pipe, it doesn't get boomy at all. Also very quiet if you roll up the windows. You can only really hear it when you floor it and the cats get hot.

Here are the clips.
Stock cats + E-race

Catless + E-race

Sounds incredible !...and thanks for the comment. There is a car local to me for sale with Eisenmann race (axleback only)...maybe the way to know for sure is to go listen to it myself and decide.

Akra with a catless midpipe will sound considerably louder than with the EVO mid pipe.
