Rant: Dealer BS or am i asking for too much?? -- Drama Warning

in short, the day i got the car my CA had me purchase the floor mats at her cost. Most dealers throw that shit in for free + give u a few BMW shits. i got like 100 worth of BMW crap + floor mats + a gift card when i got my 335, same when i got my infiniti. i never even argued with her, i just paid, done.

now when i got to the car meet on friday John noticed i have the 07 navigation disc. Simon (E90SLAM) handed me a copy of his 2008, so it's already available and he obviously has it.

now watch and tell me if what im asking is too much

No i did not. I am coming today, does that work?

BTW, the navigation disc that I have is the 2007 one, I thought the car comes with the 08, is there a way i can get the 08?
I'll be at the dealer in an hour, who do i talk to?

The 2008 nav disc just became available about one week ago and only car produced in that time frame will have the 08 version.

Your car was produced over one month ago, therefore, your car came with the 07.

Okay thanks, although i honestly feel pretty bummed having to buy both floor mats and a navigation disc on a brand new 70k dollar car. Crevier probably needs to re-consider that since it only leaves a bitter taste in customer mouths while it doesnt really cost a thing.

Please let me know when I can pick up the mats.

I am already checking to see if I can exchange the nav disc, but none are in yet because they were just released.

M3 mats aren't even here yet, but I'll see if we can get those covered for you when you come in.

Please keep in mind that you got a super great deal on your M3.

I have a customer that is dying to see the interior on your car. He wants to order it in the convertible. Perhaps you could consider letting him see it when you are around.

that's what happens when ur too nice to a dealer. OMG. she's telling me to shut up coz she sold me a car at MSRP (great deal??) and she wants me to show my car to her customers so she can make money. what kind of shit deal is this?

I just picked up my car and it also has the 07 disc. I called my CA and he was cool he just told me to come down and they will hook me up. I will let you know if LB bmw has them in yet.

Your salesperson sucks. F her. Don't refer her shit. Tell her if she wants your sales she can fork out a few bucks out of her pocket to pay for your disc and mats. Maybe you should remind her that she is making money off of you and your refs. People like this piss me off. It is my understanding that the Dealer puts in the DVD disc at the time of arrival. That is what happened with me and others I know. The car is not shipped from Germany with the U.S. DVD Navi disc. It is not in there at the VPC either. There is a worry of theft if that does happen. When I received my car the Navi DVD was brand new, they took it out of the packaging, and put it in the car. Therefore, the DVD disc date is dependent on when you receive your car and not when the car was "produced." Her theory simply does not add up.

She wants you to come in out of your time to show the interior, she needs to give u the dvd. "Scratch my back and I'll scratch yours applies."

You're not being unreasonable. The car is a 2008, it should come with the disc marked 2008. The 2007 disc was probably made in 2006. I'm not sure what the dealer/manufacturer cost of the disc is but BMW should have purchased a 2008 disc for every car with a 2008 date and certainly one that was produced partway through the 2008 production cycle (even if it was at the beginning of the M3 production cycle).
