Jerez E92 M3 build/restoration

I just picked up a 2010 E92 M3 clean title, no accident (?), 2 owner, 103k, DCT, carbon roof and 100% stock minus OEM ZCP wheels that were pretty thrashed. I found it on Craigslist and made the 200 mile trip to go and get it. At first, I had just looked over it because it was obviously pretty rough from the pictures on the ad but I kept going back to it and convinced myself I wanted a project to continually improve like my last E46 M3. PO also said he replaced both throttle actuators with OEM units about 500 miles before I purchased it. Enough talk, onto the good stuff. Here's a rundown of whats wrong with it;
-Oil level was too high
-TPMS failure (going to code this out)
-missing passenger reflector
-bent oil cooler/bumper/grille (oil cooler still perfectly functional with no leaks but I took it as an opportunity to upgrade )
-typical worn exterior trim
-paint in desperate need of correction
-sun fading on the CF roof
-interior needs a deep clean
-thrashed wheels/cheap tires
Overall, the list makes it sound worse than it is. I drove back over 200 miles and it was solid.

As soon as I got home I gave her a bath/decon and it was up on the quick jacks for paint correction and further inspection. I'm not sure what the previous owner hit but I believe it was just an off road excursion. He claimed to know nothing about it. Anyways, I have some big plans for her and have already started ordering a plethora of parts to include;
-Apex ARC8 satin black with Michelin PSS 18x9.5 et22 18x10.5 et27 265/35 and 285/35
-oil change kit (liquimoly)
-oil pan gasket
-oil filter gasket
-OEM transmission mounts
-windshield upper/lower trim
-4 new jack pads
-central switch assembly (missing button)
-cabin filters
-BMC intake filter
-OEM coolant for a flush
-Turner aluminum skid plate
-OEM lower grille
-OEM rear badge
-headlight gasket L/R
-Vibratechnic motor mounts (got here in 2 days from the U.K.!)
-CSF oil cooler
-BE rod bearings
-BE rod bolts

That's it for now. I'll gradually order more and more because I'm a maniac like the rest of us. Future plans for the car include;
-Ohlins R&T
-Brembo 6 piston 365 fronts
-Turner solid subframe bushings
-Powerflex purple diff bushings
-test pipes
-BPM tune/GTS DCT flash
-whatever else

Here's some pictures I have of the progress;

Wow. Very rough indeed, that engine bay oh my goodness.

Glad you saved that from the path that car was heading, you will give it a good life.

It's amazing how poorly some of these cars were treated. When I bought mine I thought it was in rough shape but yours is on another level. If you plan on doing a paint correction yourself that's a lot of days in your garage. Probably going to need new rotors/pads up front, new front belly pan kit, battery, spark plugs, alignment, etc.

How does the trim get that bad?! My car has 115k and has seen a lot of 4-season abuse and spent its share of time outside but shows no cracking or wear.

Good job for giving this car the TLC it finally deserves

Thank you everybody for the kind words!

Today I got some work done on the interior and put the bumper/headlights on so they could be compounded/polished. I also put the new lower grille on to see how it would fit the lower part of the bumper being slightly damaged and it fits perfectly into all tabs. I will get a Euro bumper eventually.

Started by taking the front seats out and cleaning the extras the PO had left;

After. I used Leather masters 3 part kit for the leather, cockpit premium on the plastic pieces, my commercial heated carpet extractor, steam machine and shop vac.

Apex wheels cleaned and ready for their coating, I'll be trying Kamikaze Stance.

Hard to tell from the pictures but the seats look a lot better and don't have a sheen to them anymore.

Passenger side cleaned, middle and driver side not...

Next, I need to finish the exterior polishing and apply the ceramic coating. All of the parts I bought should be here by Wednesday this week so Tuesday I'll be dropping the front subframe in preparation for rod bearings and putting everything else on to make her presentable.

Wow, subbed. Amazing progress. What a shame with the condition the PO left the car in. I'm sure you'll make this look all new again.

Cheers.
