E92 M3 with E60 M5 wheels

I ran these wheels for 2 weeks, they were a bit large and rubbed a good amount. The car was mainly parked but I thought I would post a few pictures of the setup. I am now on EC-7s and will post another thread with those shortly. The tire sizes are stock M5 thats why it looks kind of big for the car, rear is on a 12.5mm spacer.

The 19" 220 style is one of my least favorites for the E92. I prefer the 18" 219 or the 359.

These however look pretty good, like a more aggressive 220 style. Nice job OP! I see you didn't keep them on though.

Too bad, I like it!

Thanks! I wanted to stick with 18s. I went with a 275 square setup for performance reasons.. Maybe Ill go back to 19s some day with style 359s, always loved those.

Right? Exactly my thoughts! It would look even better if the tire size was M3 sizing instead of M5.

they look really good. You're not the first to do this, but this is the first time I heard they rub. Where did it rub?

There's virtually no fender gap and that alone will give you instant cred with the hellaflush LA crowd.

I couldn't turn the wheel more than 180 degrees, it ate up the inner wheel liner.

Yea sadly they'll be disappointed to find out the car has wheel gap now :/ oh well, I tried

The M5 uses a 255/40-19 front tire. Way too big for the e9x

Hi Guys,

Sorry to drag a thread up from the dead but this was one of the only relevant threads i could find searching for E60 M5 wheels fitted to e92 M3. I am looking at purchasing a set of the 166's and this thead has confirmed my of the look.

Would you think on a M3 sizing tyre (F 245 & R 265) these would fit with out rubbing?

Cheers,

Jamie

They should fit without rubbing with M3 size tires. BTW, these wheels are the biggest PITA to clean!

Yes it fits but you would need M3 size tires, I would recommend 255/35 and 275/35. I also used a 12.5mm spacer in the rear and it looks perfect!

The e60 m5 wheels actually look pretty good on the m3 imo. Just need the right tire sizes.
