I need some opinions on the car, my father has a 2003 SL500 and is considering trading up for the 650 mainly for the usablitiy of the back seats, what do you guys think?

Our hope is to get a good deal by buying two cars at once (330xi,650Cic) The SL would go as a trade and my FX comes off lease. I cant figure out if Im loving the e90... and the power kinda hurts going from 303bhp - 250 bhp but boy did I have fun driving that 3!

I was in your position i was going to get either a fully loaded IS250 or base IS350 and then test drove a 325 and honestly felt it had plenty of power for me. The car clearly IMO out performed the IS also. Good Luck trying to get a "good deal" my dad was going to do the same thing but 325 and a 650ci and the "deal" wasnt much of a deal after all so he just bought me a car and hes getting his in december hopefully.

lol he's getting a 650 because of "usable" backseats?? I was at my uncle's house 2 days ago and looked at his 645Cic and noticed that the seats are not even usable. Unless you wanna put in childseats or like a really small kid, the backseats are not something I'd call "usable". I dont know how tall your dad is. My uncle is 5'9-5'10 and the way his seat was positioned leaves about 5 inches of legroom.

hmmmmmmmmmm, guess ur right, i went 2 BMW showroom n asked my cuzn 2 sit in the back seat n i sat in the fron, he could sit but not move, but the true thing is that the 650 has more room than the SL, i cant say that the SL has back seats, they just have the look of seats, but cant use them.

n calm down ward, we wana add a new member 2 BMW owners club

yah i know, but the concept is slightly different, if u want 2 cool down the sporty side, take the 650, but if ur looking for power n sporty look, porsche is better.

the point is that the BMW is not expensive compared 2 porsche...

It happens to be my favorite car but what back seats? There is no room for even a child back there.

The fact is the back is for my sister (11) and who ever he may have to shlep around. If he ever needs to put 4 people in a car, he can drive the 330xi when we get it (yea I know after the FX is gone) haha. Any options people think are necessary? Im thinking definatly sport package.

btw he has owned a Porsche before, to him its a been there done that thing. We all love the SL but its just not practical for us anymore.

We went with the sl
every1 has his own taste, i think the 6 is a v beautiful car, well designed n shaped, 4 me the SL is (n thats my opinion) is more normal than the 6
but i guess its too late 4 us 2 talk looks, cuz the guy already saw both cars, n since he wants 2 switch 2 the 650, he thinks that its a good looking car, n since he bought the SL, he thinks its good looking 2
