G1 issue
This is what I get for buying a used supercharger unit. Got it all installed, tune added, start it up and I get a terrible sound from the engine bay. I'm no mechanic, but this can't be a normal sound. I'm just seeing if anybody has ideas on what I need to do and how bad it really is.

probably blown blower, and needs rebuild, sounds like the drive shaft is broken. see if there is any play in it, and remove the blower kit ASAP.

Can’t really tell but my guess is the gears are damaged and the blower may need to be rebuilt

You sure its a G1 with the upgraded blower unit?
I have a VT1-550 kit with the older blower and it sounds like a can of rocks at idle. Purchased refurbed from ESS, sent them a video, they confirmed it is fine... |

He suggested I do a 50/50 mix of supercharger oil and royal purple 75w90 to help with better lube adherence. He was super friendly and even offered to check it over for me if I was still worried. Based on his response and friendliness, I'm an ESS fan for life. |

Yeah - I have a G1 and it sounds like a bag of loose bolts for sure. Noise goes away as soon as you lift the revs is my experience - it is also louder when cold I find but it is so worth it when you roll into it at 5000RPM

I'm going to run it for a few weeks and then change the oil out for what was suggested. I don't see how it could hurt and I doubt the owner would be trying to get me to nuke my blower.
