God, these OEM 19's are strong!
Travelling through a repaving zone today at 45-50mph. Semi to the right of me, oncoming traffic to the left, Ford F-150 ahead. In an istant, a sewer cover appears under the Ford's bumper - had to be 3" high. No where to go, I had no choice but to hit it with my right front wheel.
Hideous, horrendous crashing noise. "Sh*t", I think, "I am going to be sitting on the side of the road in a minute with the worthless M Mobility Kit, waiting for BMW Assist to send a flatbed." Wait for the TPM to come on, while being grateful I purchased the wheel and tire insurance. Instead: nothing. Drove for an hour at 75-80 mph. No vibration, no air loss, no drama. Amazing.

To make it sweeter for you, they are made by BBS and are forged (hence the strength). They are also lighter substantially than the 18 inch stock M3 wheels. IMO, the design of the 19 inch wheels works perfectly with the lines.
I always maintained that BMW needs to make these 19 inch wheels standard and ditch the 18 inch wheels that are only there for cost cutting. They look too small and make the tire look way too "meaty" and SUV-ish. All other competitors comes standard with 19 inch wheels. M3 is the only car with standard 18 inch wheels. The design looks quite bland as well.

In my experience, a bent lip - inside or outside - should result in a vibration and/or air loss. Since I have neither, my fingers are crossed!

Edit: Here is our car on the Fuchs website: http://www.fuchsfelge.de/index.php?id=134&L=1. BMW wheels are shown here: http://www.fuchsfelge.de/index.php?id=135&L=1. They made the E46 M3 19s as well, if you notice.

The stock 19"s are lighter than the 18"s WITH rubber mounted? If so, by how much?

Had a similar thing happen a few years back. Thought I was fine, next morning I had a flat. Small crack was slowly leaking air on the inside lip. |

I hate that feeling when I hit some big bump or pothole. Glad to hear that the wheel seems ok. Follow up on checking tire sidewalls in a week, and then a couple weeks later. Sometimes the sidewall slowly forms a bubble at the point of impact.
