Coolant found on top of engine

I swapped out a faulty throttle actuator this afternoon and found a small puddle of coolant underneath the actuators. I realize the water pump and thermostat are nearby.

Has anyone had a leak in that area?

Thanks

Check the hose that runs between the water pump housing and coolant reservoir. They notoriously crack off inside the pump housing and weep. If it spins freely within the housing it's broken.

Thanks. But how would travel down into the "V" of the engine ? That's more outside.

Dunno... Maybe it runs down something? It's a common place to leak, just where I'd start is all

Same one I mentioned, the part number is listed above. Twist the end in the housing, if it moves easy, it's broken.

I found exactly the same thing - coolant in the V but never figured out where it was coming from so I will have to try that part. I once had to park the car angled slightly downhill for about a week waiting for another repair and found a decent amount of coolant there. I VERY slowly lose coolant but never have any traces in my oil analysis or on the ground.

I replaced that hose and filled her up with coolant. I drove her a week or so ago and checked my coolant level before my drive and it was fine. I will be replacing water pump and thermostat as a preventative measure. Fyi, I don't daily it.

I recently replaced my thermostat and water pump and I ended up finding out that the two cylinder cones that connect to the thermostat housing to the two rubber hoses have o rings and over time those rings go bad and eventually leak causing a huge mess in the v section of the engine. I’ll show pics as soon as possible.

Never had an issue with leakage from the o rings. However when replacing the Tstat and managed to break one the rings when putting things together....water fall into tge engine v....
