08 E92 M3 -- TPMS Malfunction

hi guys,

took the 08 E92 M3 to the dealer today to checkout an TPMS malfunction. dealer says they cannot detect the TPMS in any of the wheels and that there is a 'central receiving antenna' that they need to first replace to further diagnose the issue.

they wanted $500 to replace it.

anyone heard of this before? sound legit? will get the BMW PN tonight when i pickup the car.

thanks in advance.

Definitely a rip off! The antenna only cost $62 bucks from Tisher.

Which dealership is this at?

My brand new tpms sensors had some issues over the cold winter here. It was one in particular but it was due to the extreme cold. Probably no matter what tpms sensor you have in very extreme cold they will malfunction. There is no fix aside from being in warmer weather.

Well they replaced the receiver antenna free of charge as a diagnosis step, but it did not resolve the issue. They are now saying it is the CCC -> CIC replacement I did or the PDC install that I had done.

I like the idea of just checking if the battery in one of the TPMS sensors is dead. That seems like an no brainer that slipped my mind.
