Hi Mike, would be interesting to know what the owners plan is, replacing RBs at some point or simply view the car have done its job once it goes down?

I don't think the owner has any intention of replacing the bearings to be honest...

I recomended it at 250k or so which is when I saw the car last... but so far not taking my suggestion has worked out!

Car was a DD and just BMW recommended service intervals as far as I know.

Wow, at that point I'd happily invest a couple of k in the bearings. Car has well deserved it. Owner realize the 2.5k vs 25k right?

There is a non zero risk of causing a failure by messing with something that is working fine

If I were him I wouldn't touch it with somebody else's 10' pole

I agree completely ..... if mine ever reaches that mileage ... I would run it till it blows , then put a Dinan stroker motor in it n move along .... but I still got 200K more to go ....

58k miles so far

I have an '08, purchased new in June 2008, MT, E90. So far so good at 58,000 miles. Apart from regular fluid changes and tire replacements I had to change the battery at 40k, both throttle valve actuators at 44k, thermostat and spark plugs at 52k, and replaced one broken cup holder.

I'm really thinking about buying an alpine white 08 m3. It has 120k miles. Anything in particular I should ask the previous owner? Should I be worried about anything in specific? What would be a good price range for car with these miles?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions and help.

Hit 100,000 last week, have had the car for 50,000 miles...big repair item was the AC evaporator, on original rod bearings, and TA's etc. Still puts a smile on my face everyday!

My story's pretty much like yours! Also hit 100k last week, bought with just shy of 40k in 2012, caught AC evaporator under factory warranty, still on original RBs and TAs.

Considering the miles and rock chips, I can't even imagine selling this fantastic car for what someone would give me for it. Guess I'll just keep her healthy and keep her forever!
