Radio Coding Corrupt? Super Loud Gong Noise

I recently picked up my 2011 E92 M3 with the individual pack and noticed the overall quality of sound is not that great. I used to have an E92 325i with the same sound system and it sounded much better.

After playing around with the tone settings, I noticed the warning volumes ie. gong sound etc volume adjustment doesn't actually do anything. Regardless of what volume setting they are on, the gong noise is ear ringing excruciatingly loud. It is definitely not normal and I am beginning to think maybe the CIC unit or whatever ecu the sound coding is stored in has been updated or coded incorrectly.

I've checked if there is any media updates using my VIN number on the bmw website but apparently no updates available.
Is there anything else I can check at home to diagnose my problem?
I do have access to bimmercode and carly app too.

Any help would be much appreciated.
