I was going to say something very similar but with the EVOMS cars for my example. This is M3 is stupid fast but isn't by any means a modded Porsche slayer.

Let me correct myself. That car with 63.5mm VTG's should be making around the mid 6xx range, as I said. The stock rods are known to bend around the 6xx lb-ft of torque range, not 6xxawhp. I have seen SPI's dynos. That 850whp was made on C16 (to avoid knock which would bend the rods), and the car was tuned to make ~650 lb-ft or torque and has a torque curve that peaks high in the rpm range (around 5800rpm) to again, avoid bending the rods.

Now a DCT m3 with a built motor, such as drew's vt-700 would have been a much closer race.
