I think people can argue about this issue all day and there will always be different views. I appreciate the advice though.

I'd be better of keeping my comments to myself as they'd probably spark a heated debate.

I go to Cal Poly Pomona too, but I get there later in the afternoon for my graduate classes. I am an EE major as well! I usually parked my car in the roof to avoid any unnecessary dings and nicks all over my ride since I had that when I had my Lexus IS300during that time. To answer your question, a body shop that I would recommend would be Pacific Collision Center over at Ontario. They did a really good job in fixing my fender when a driver clipped it, which is the same exact situation that you are going through!

I usually park the furthest end and the opposite side of where the elevators are at since it takes myself no more than 2 minutes of walking across the lot to get there. In the summer, I had a medical condition where I was issued a medical permit in parking in any medical stalls on campus. Those are god parking!

this is why you have a daily beater... I would never own a new M3 as my only and daily driver... esp where I have to park in large parking lots. No f'ing way. Recipe for fast depreciation.

I dont think its stripped dow nto the metal since the bumper is plastic. But the damage doesnt seem to be too serious. Next time, dont drive your new M3 that puts everyone's car to shame to school. There'll be kids that will hate on you and end up keying your car or something.

That is why I drive a 93 jetta with 200k on it. Park it anywhere, drive it everywhere, and don't have to worry about shit.
But sorry about your hit.

Hi Cloud...

My best bet would be to take your car to an top notch car detailer in your hood and check out if the scuff mark can be polished/buffed and waxed out. It doesn't look too bad... I was imagining that they was a huge dent etc in the car till your pics came online.

Try polishing... if that doesn't work then go for a re-spray.

True... Unless you go to a private college or private grad school.

that SUCKS dude. Happened to my last E46 at the Mandalay, on video, but I knew better than to even ASK if they'd search the tape. This is the thing; there's a difference between being able to buy something, and being able to afford something. The main difference, is if the moneys value (not printed on it - as its a product of your effort to attain) is more significant relative to the routinal amount of risk assumed, the nature of chaos, and the reality that possessions can't rule your world. Thus, not being able to say "fuck it" ... when standard incidentals occur, would suggest something weren't affordable.

Please excuse me if I sound like I don't feel bad for you - I do - I wouldn't want it to happen to mine, however... life goes on.

Cloud, I saw your car this morning at Backyard Creations. It's almost done, they did a really good job on it. They fixed all of the damage on the bumper and quarter panel, you can't even tell anything ever happened to it. I'm taking my car to Joe to get fixed, too.
