Leather Steering Wheel for DCT?
I recently have fallen into some money that I have decided to throw into the black hole known as my BMW. I was looking at getting a genuine leather steering wheel for my e92 m3 DCT. I don't want any bulky carbon or weird shifting lights or indents for my thumbs, just a regular wheel with a red stripe at the top in nice leather. Classy stuff. I can find a lot of this kind of wheel for manual cars meaning they do not have holes for the DCT paddles on the back, which I very much enjoy clicking in my car. Does anyone know of a nice leather steering wheel with a red stripe at the top for DCT e92 m3? I will include a photo of what I mean at the bottom of this post (the photo has a blue stripe but just imagine a red one, that's it). Thank you everyone!
As a side note, I have sat in a lot of Porsches, and I am looking for a leather wheel with a very similar feel to those wheels, if anyone knows what I am talking about. ![]() |

That's a great looking wheel. Sorry I can't help you find a DCT version, do you mind sharing where I can find a manual version of that wheel you pictured? It's exactly what I want.

Appreciate the link! Have you contacted the eBay seller to ask them to make a DCT wheel?
Alternatively, maybe Mashimarho will make you one. Quote from their website below: "IF YOU HAVE A CUSTOM REQUEST, PLEASE EMAIL wheels@mashimarho.com for a quote. Examples include custom stripe color, material, etc. We love custom ideas." https://mashimarho.com/collections/e...32285887496291 Hopefully I am not just sending you down a path you've already tried. Good luck, and thanks again!!

If you are in Seattle, you could take your wheel to NW Crafted Interiors.
That eBay seller, DBcarparts will make you a custom wheel if you ask. As well, ERA wheels will do the same. However be advised, in my experience working with both, they don't actually use real DCT cores (ERA was worse) which results in poor fitment of the paddles on the back of the wheel, and it can look like a hack job. So, send them your wheel (cost prohibitive to send international) or confirm you only want a genuine DCT core. I am in the same boat as you. I found a brand new OEM wheel that is now on the car, and now that I have an extra, I'm planning to take it to NW Crafted for something more "unique". |
