BTW, did we ever reach a conclusion on how exactly this 'deleter' works? Will the 'deleter' hide other more serious (hard) codes besides (emissions related) readiness codes?
I remember reading in the other thread that the deleter only hides the emissions code. I do not have any confirmation or more information on this. Maybe the guy from the other thread could chime in. I don't remember his name.

I'm not too worried about the max hp and tq figures. I'm more interested in the increase underneath the tq curve over stock. If you look between 4k and 6k rpms, there is quite a significant increase in tq and hp over stock, and it then decreases as the rpms rise. I think Akrapovic claims a 25tq gain at 4.6k rpm, which looks fairly accurate.

From driving I can tell you that there is a significant change in the way the car pulls from 4k to 6k rpm. Feels much more powerful.

I can feel the dip a little bit, but it doesn't bother me. I shoot past 2.5k rpms pretty quickly.

In the other thread I induced a few codes and they all showed up in idrive, the BT tool, and triggered the CEL/SES light...the Akra part isn't hiding error codes, except the one that matters.

Great choice of exhaust! It would be better if the Akrapovic CEL module is a pin-in, pin-out version. I'm sure a local competent indy shop can modify that with OEM pins.

Hey Tim,
thanks for the great review!
I am glad that the deleter is doing it´s job - if we can secure your observations, I am sure it will go into production soon. Keep us updated, please!
Also I am happy that you like your new baby.

My thoughts exactly!

I bought some OBD pins and two Male OBD plugs and am going to do this when my car arrives. Hopefully the OBD plug will fit under the OEM cover for the female end of the OBD connection down by the hood release. If the cover fits I will put the 4 pins into the proper positions in the plug and I will just have to plug the assembly in. If the cover won't fit over the plug I will just crimp the pins on the end of the Delete-R's wires and I will plug them into the proper positions individually.

I will post pictures and a DIY when this is complete! Should done be around early May.

To be honest, the full Akra is better than a BBK to do first. It completely changes the cars character and performance.

BBK is great to look at but on the street is hardly noticeable! Not that I regret getting it since I really need it for what's next

Quick update:

CEL for increased emissions came on last night after 350 miles with the exhaust and deleter. After turning the car on and off the light was still there. To my surprise on my way home after about 10 miles it turned off and hasn't come on since.

That's odd? Hopefully it won't come back, keep us posted.

Excellent choice Cash....Makes it a joy to drive...I think it completes the M3 without adding superchargers and such. Although I may choose that route in the future!

Totally agree, and yes I will reference this post in a few months once we see you got a supercharger, the mod bug is a dangerous thing

Have the car scanned and see if it was indeed for "Catalyst Efficiency"....... there is a good chance it was not. If it wasn't for "Catalyst Efficiency" then this is actually good news. This will show that the CEL system still indeed monitors other systems properly even with the Delete-R.

How do I do that? I don't have a scanner. Can I just go to the dealer and say "scan my car for codes"?
