Induktiv - Factory Integrated Wireless Charger Review

So I was recently looking at swapping out my center console ash tray with the factory sunglass tray as I pretty much only used the ash tray to store gum wrappers and loose change. I figured it would also be a good spot to keep my phone while driving so I didn't have it between my legs all the time.
Soon into my research, I came across this new integrated wireless charger offered by Induktiv. It looked like a clean setup, and also came with the OEM sunglass tray, so I said why not give it a shot and add even more functionality to my interior.

The fit and finish looks factory (as it should considering it uses the OEM sunglass tray), and the charger is actually relatively quick, around +1% per minute.

Install was a breeze, just remove the center console, unplug the electrical connectors and simply use the provided connector + resistor and plug straight into the factory cigarette lighter plug under the console.

Also, I have personally confirmed fitment with phone sizes up to the iPhone 11 Pro Max with the Silicon Case from Apple, I believe the dimensions are similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S9 for y'all Android folk. There's still a little room to spare, so if you do have something much larger than that, you may be out of luck, but I think that's plenty of space for MOST phones!

For those of you interested, you can purchase here: https://induktivcharging.com/collect...-charging-unit

If you already have the sunglass tray, you only need the charger; if not, you will need the charger + OEM tray option.

Here's some pics of the charger as well as everything taken apart and put back together:

What do y'all think? I think it looks factory and fits right in with the interior!

Would you say it will still charge the phone while streaming through bluetooth and using GPS navigation?

The factory sunglass tray removes the whole cover

Yes charges just like normal. About 1% per minute. Only "issue" I've noticed is that if my iphoneX is on the far right or left edges of the charger it won't charge as the coil is in the middle of the phone and the pad. But it's like a 2-3mm corner so just keep the phone in the middle

This is awesome, I might have to pick one up!

Just to confirm, if I have the tray with a cover on it, then I’ll need to purchase the OEM “sunglass” tray with this?

Yes. That's an option under their drop down on the purchase link

Any additional feedback on this now that it has been a month? Thinking of picking one up.

Nope. Nothing but positive things to say about it. Only quirky thing i noticed with my iPhone X is that if the phone rests on the extreme left or right of the tray the charging coils don't align and the phone stops charging. But it's only like a 1mm space on each side so i just make sure my phone is centered. No problem with a pro max tho

I think this is the phone not the pad. I have the X and my wife and daughter have The XR. While technically a lesser model, theirs are less "temperamental" about placement.

nice one thing I've seen someone else do is get the charging coils separate and just DIY it on the bottom side of the sunglass holder, no need to tap a hold and you can get two coils and wire them up so no matter where your phone sits it will charge. This will be on my to do list. Is there a plug where you plugged the charger into? or is it just he cigarette lighter plug?

here's a link to an extended charger may get this piece and change out the internals to this

It has an OEM plug adapter that goes directly into the outlet that the cigarette lighter previously connected to. I'd say this is far superior than Jerry rigging something yourself.
