Plus Porsche is seriously under rating their cars. The dynos I've seen for the MkI 997 GT3 show it making 370-380rwhp stock, rated at 415hp. The one I drove was definitely a lot quicker than my M.

Like a few have said, I'm also going to go for a new GT3 after my M3......But the problem is that'll be 5-7 yrs from now.....And almost everything changes from now 'till then.

Something I've always wondered?
There may be an earlier example, but I think that you can blame the original Mustang. They didn't want to hold it back until when the new models came out, traditionally in late September, but they didn't want to "penalize" new owners by saddling it with the last year's dating. Blame Lee Iacocca.

I just got confirmation that my GT3 is an October build. I'm stoked because I thought I wouldn't see it until next spring. I live in a winter wasteland though. So I'll just be enjoying it in a garage.

Congrats! Mine is an Aug build. Same here though, it'll be in the garage with me dressed in a parka starring at it.

Congrats too. Very cool. Did you get the ceramic brakes? I opted against them but still have time to change my mind. Also, do you know anything about the dynamic engine mounts? I saw them mentioned in CD as an option but didn't see them in the online Porsche configurator.

I just had my allocation changed to Nov. DE mounts are not available until Sept. They should be in the configurator by then. I will likely order them, although, I am sure that I'm not good enough to notice the benefit. Resale might be better.

My car will be white w/full leather, red belts, crests hearests, bluetooth, upgraded sound, etc... I did not go with the ceramics. I feel that the new floating 15" steels will be plenty. My wallet will thank me too. I may pass on the full leather, but everything else stays.

rapistwit, I just heard from my dealer that the DE mounts, lift and black wheels are pushed back to Nov builds.

This reminds me of that time when some magazine did a comparison between an Audi R8 and the Jeep SRT8 just becuase they both had V8's with ~420 horsepower. Weird.

Both amazing cars, but yeah, GT3 is in a league of its own.
