Post wash

Last summer I did a full detail of the car. Wash, clay, sealant, polish, wax, etc. I winterized the car and have driven it sparingly this spring/summer. Recently I took the car to the dealer to get a state inspection, and they performed a complementary wash.

Right after the wash, the feel of the car went from buttery smooth to squeaky clean, as expected. What should steps do I need to do get it back to the buttery smooth, show room shine state? I'm sure it can't be as easy as "quick detail spray."

Not sure I understand your metaphors, but it sounds like they washed it with something that stripped off the wax? But if the wax was really applied last summer, it's likely gone by now anyway.

After a full detail, the surface of the car is really smooth to the touch.

Whenever you wash the car after that full detail, it’s not going to feel smooth to the touch anymore. My question is what products do you need to reapply, not knowing which products were stripped from the surface during the wash.

Do people just spray on quick detailer or do more? When I detailed my car, I used the chemical guys chart as a reference on what to apply.

If the car doesn't feel smooth to the touch anymore, it's probably because whatever product was on there has either evaporated or was removed via washing. No product lasts forever, and there are a lot of soaps out there which are designed to strip away whatever's on the paint.

Quick detailers are just very watered-down spray waxes. They're fine for removing water spots and touch-ups, but it's not the same as laying down a true wax or sealant.

Go for some Adam's Detail Spray, that stuff is super slick and cuts down on the dust buildup.

With newer technology imo wax is becoming obsolete. It's does provide more depth and gloss but sealants last much longer. Between hydrosilex and sonax spray and seal, I love the latter.

For $25 a bottle it better be good
I might actually want to try this now. I'm a sucker for new products.
