Red face 2019 BMW Raffle - anyone here on Bimmerpost win

So, begrudgingly I purchased three raffle tickets - but did not win, am I mad - a bit since the tickets that were drawn do not appear as random as I would think i.e. drastically different numbers.

Instead, the numbers drawn for the most part appear like early ticket numbers that were purchased at the beginning of the sale of the raffle tickets.

Oh well, has anyone on any of the Nimmerpost forums won? And you have to pay taxes on the winning, correct? So if you win the M4 CS valued at $117K - ya gotta pay taxes on that, correct?

Next year I guess

I participate every year, same as the PCA raffle.

You have to pay like 40% taxes on it, which is why most people are lame and get the prize money instead.
The PCA one is set up better. If you take the car you get a 120k car + 25k cash prize. If instead you take the cash, it's like 75k prize.

It's more about supporting the clubs than an actual chance of winning.

Yeah, you're right, it is really for the clubs - and I think I will try the PCA one too.

Cheers,

Going to take a moment to teach about random, nature is the only thing that is random.

Lottery numbers aren't random. They are "as random as can be", but not actually random. People spend lots of time determining what lottery numbers pop up often and play those numbers. That is why some people become multiple time winners.

In your example based solely on the information provided, it wasn't random either it sounds like some random guys laziness. Opened a spreadsheet picked a number from the start.
