360 mile race through PA on April 22

Dear East Coasters,

On April 22, I have to be in Volant, PA in the early afternoon. Instead of hopping on a chopper, I thought nothing better than using the 360 miles to get my ///M baby warmed up for the season. Will be leaving Princeton around 8.30am. I will be heading back the next day.

(this is not the route that we will be taking, PM me for correct route)

It would be great if we could get a small East Coast ///M3, ///M5 army together and do some or all of that route together. Nothing more fun than cruising with a bunch of ///M cars together.

Who's in??

Best,
(H)

P.S.: I am already tossing around ideas for the first Central NJ Meet'n'Cruise this year (see last's year's inaugural event at http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=895318)

If I'm around, that looks nothing why of amazing based on last year's event. And I'd love to go on a long cruise with other people that share a passion for driving. I myself generally drive around 300 miles a day on average...I just can't seem to put this car down hah!

I'll keep you posted though,

also - First! In an epic thread .

Good luck "racing" on the turnpike. There are several mountainy spots that you can open it up a bit though. Cops like to sit within about 2-3 miles of the several police stations on the turnpike. Oh and once you hit the Carlisle exit, do not speed until it goes back down to two lanes.

That being said I wouldnt mind meeting up for the last leg as I am in Pittsburgh

"Racing" on the PA turnpike = not a good idea. Interstate driving is only good for getting from point A to point B using cruise control (set at ~75) in the old luxobarge. You really don't need an M3 for this trip.

If you want to make things interesting, get on some of the excellent back roads in PA, especially in the hills and mountainous areas. However, doing that would probably make it a two day trip.

Completely understand @DBH, which of the following alternatives would you recommend, still a (long) day trip: https://goo.gl/maps/DrSzw

Either would be preferable to all highway driving. I would probably opt for the northern route as it tends to parallel I80. This makes it easy to hop on to I80 if you find you're running short of time.

Random input: I am active duty Navy and drive from CT -> PA to visit my parents fairly often. If you can hit I-78 you can almost literally floor it constantly with little to no cops. There is a guardrail on one side and a concrete wall between, and very little (and they're well-marked) places to pull off for cops to hide. Generally, just slow it down between the exits. I'm not condoning trying to set a land speed record, just trying to give some pointers for fun .

EDIT: Between exits 8-50.
