General Consensus Track Decals - Follow driver to other cars? or only driven cars?

So fun discussion I had about track decals, you know those cool looking outline stickers of race tracks symbolizing you drove on the track.

I see them on a lot of cars at cars and coffees, car shows, etc. What is the general consensus about them?.....

Let's use the Nurburgring, you got a flight, rented a VW Golf, hit the track. Congrats you're not a poser with a 'Ring sticker.

But, do you put that 'Ring sticker on your M3 at home? or on some item to follow the driver? Helmet? Toolbox? etc.

Those with track decals, what do you do? Do you put all the tracks you have driven on from three car's ago on your current car? or only the tracks driven with the car?

Bonus points if you post your track decals.

If you are going to do it - that car on that track.

I don't do it, but I riced my wing. If I did put track decals on, I'd only put it on the car that drove there, too.

My E92 M3 has never been to Laguna Seca and probably never will. But my E90 track-only car has been many times. Someone at some track day gave me a Laguna decal as a free sample, so I stuck it on my E92. I never thought about the "rules" for a track decal. People put all kinds of crap on their cars.

If I was going to follow any track decal rules, the main one would be to avoid accidentally putting a dick and balls on your window thinking it was a track......

I am in the "put whatever decal where ever you want whether or not you bought the products or have driven the track" camp. Screw the Decal Enforcement Agents!

It's in the US Constitution under Article VIII Section 9 that you can only put track decals on if you own the record for fastest lap time there. Everything else is just posing.

Article 1, rule 2 of the track boi rules and regulations state the decal has to be worn by the car that has driven on the track represented by the decal.

That's not a penis and balls, that is the ice track Jeremy drove the Urus around on this season of the grand tour.

The right response to somebody giving you trouble about legitimacy of track stickers is to tell him or her to go have relations with a fence post

I’m ok with stickers, but I’m a minimalist. No track stickers currently here, just my Instagram username.
My helmet is mostly a blank slate though, so I’ll probably add track stickers to it as I go places. Currently in the process of building a 24hrs of Lemons car and will be taking that to more out of state tracks than my M3 most likely.

Hahaha true. It's a real track.

But some would argue that's autoclub speedway infield too. Hah

I'm with you, but you've driven every track in America so you don't need to brag anymore.

That said, I've driven all of these in this car except one 24-hour race in my buddy's Porsche.

It's a good conversation starter for those that are in the know and those that are not.

Oddly enough I have no track stickers. But if I did I'd probably put them on the back of the trucks camper cab.

I have a bunch of product logos that I made with my wife's silhouette so the car would have some character.

hehe just plowing a path in the snow in that shape isn't a track. There ain't no pavement in the shape of that top track! But yes, Turn 9 at ACS definitely requires a double-take when looking at the map profile.....hehehe

"Anywhere, isolated from civilians, where two or more gather to race is a track."

As it's written in 2nd Gearinthians

I'm sure some of you want more sexy decals, but I feel this one would suit 99% of my needs.

I don't put decals on my car. I do have the track outlines on my tote box, which is my "cumulative" collection from many cars over the years.

I basically do that too.

Every track decal is on the exterior of the box, the inside top lid is every "swag sticker" from every brand I have bought something from or events I have gone to etc.

You'd actually need the mirror image. ;-)
