M4 vs E60 M5 V10

Found this on another forum

According to the video:
M4 has akrapovic exhaust (Carbon ceramic brakes)
M5 is stock

That V10 top end power and gearing has always been devastating

from a stop

ROLL (watch this one until the end)

Kind of surprising, I did'nt expected the M5 to win, those new turbo Ms are seriously lacking in top end, reminds me of the race between my stock M3 and my friends stock 1M, equal up to 120km/h, after that complete annihilation of the 1M!

That's not to take away anything from the S85 but the M5 only has 500hp and it almost weight 2 tons, in theory it should'nt be faster then an 11sec car, maybe it was modded though!

I imagine the M5 takes over at pretty high speeds. It is an unrealistic outcome anywhere except a high speed run.

S85 is a beast at speed... I remember in my h/c/i 08 Z06 I would have a bit of trouble pulling away from modded M5's and M6's, especially in comparison to races against gallardo's and F430s

Guys the f80 let off there. The e60 claws back a bit above 150mph but the f80 stopped. F80 destroyed the e60 to about 140. A rolling race starting at 140 and e60 would win but who cares. Love e60 don't get me wrong

Lol he didnt let off.. This is the outcome of different engines with diff powerbands.. Clawed back a bit? He came back hard!

And fwiw, on the dig race, the M5 stopped the M4's pull, and started pulling on the M4 at 125mph aka as soon as the M4 switched into 5th.. Not sure where you got 140mph from..

Non the less i think its amazing that big 2 ton sedan with such lil tq can even hold off the M4 at low speeds..Top speed everyone knows how brutal the V10 is, so this shouldnt be a surprise..Even worse, its an almost decade old engine/technology in that thing..

+1, might be a decade old but newer is not always better.

+1, lack of camshaft in the new M3,4

I'm surprised the M5 could keep up from a dig considering how much slower the SMG shifts are + the torque disparity. From a roll at triple digit speeds, M5 all day.

A lot of turbo cars fade after sustained boost like this. Better intercooling and meth injection can reduce or eliminate heat related timing or boost pull.

What does the M4 driver have to gain from throwing the races?

They trap similar at the 1/4 mile, but the V10 motors really shine at highway speeds and above, and thats exactly where it was able to get the M4, this is what i expected, not surprising at all for stock vs stock.

Nice to see different eras of M engines philosophies at play here as mentioned earlier.. Tq vs all top end power NA..

FWIW, the race from a roll looks like the M5 hit its rev limiter in its first gear shift as from the front end dip and drop back.

Not to hijack, but another interesting race posted today:
E63 AMG Bi turbo PP vs tuned M6 V10

Same E63 AMG bi turbo pp as above vs a F80 M3 (can draw the conclusion here aswell that if the M6 is beating the E63 up top, and the E63 is beating the F80 M3, the M6 V10 will beat the F80 M3)

Yea seriously...sounds like someone in denial. Guys, no way in a straight line can a V10 with 507 hp can beat an I-6 turbo with supposedly 430 hp!! The delusions never end.
