Yes that is taken into account. My bad, it slipped my mind that this was simply another ratio calculation. Any idea how these compare to E46 M3 option prices (or 335i or M5 for that matter)?

if you look at the original post from which the 64-67% rule stems, you'll see that he operated off of numbers including VAT... or in other words he started with 66650 Euro figure, not the 56,006 euro figure, to come to his final calculations. he did this systematically for all of the bmw models upon which he based his calculation.

its simple... we pay tax after the fact... they pay tax included.

if his rule holds, our price will be between 57-59k US dollars, not 50k.

I'm sure some of those options will be standard equipment in the US. Like Garage door opener and folding side mirrors. There's no way the US options list will be this long.

My preliminary contract for a Diplomatic/Militry car US

They have hedged heavily against the Dollar with is at a several year
high, we get a TREMENDOUS price break compared to ALL other
markets and a better warranty. I am in Germany its obvious
when my Military/Diplomatic price on a 335 cab is
My price $47K USD =35 K euros
German sticker $66K in Euros or 89K in US dollars

Thats 54 percent of what a German pays, Compared to the Dutch we pay
less than half.

and we get a better warranty, That and $7plus a gallon gas in europe
is the reason the Europeans think we americans are rich ! and most of
the cars sold are diesels

A New 2007/8 Mercedes C-300/280 is 54K Euros delivered in Germany
I ordered one for my wife at $29,854 for Sept 22K Euros

Have you read any of the thread above? It's been stated multiple times that VAT HAS been factored into the 57-59k figure. I'd love for it to be less (that would leave me more money for options!) but so far everything indicates that it won't be.

Yes I did, I get diplomatic/military pricing which saves me 7 percent +or-
a bit, and the large German Dealer who is in charge of (Read owns) the largest Military Car sales BMW set of dealers yet of this listed $50K on my initial contract and after buying 5 cars they have came in less 4 out of five
times

Honestly guys, if a well equipped M3 costs 66,000 and then some possibly, then why not buy a 335i coupe at 46,000 and plow 10,000 worth of mods, and then go sit neck and neck on the track with the M3. I mean, for that kind of money, you could put LSD, larger wheels, procede, major upgrade on suspension and exhaust and still have a few thousand left over to cover and parts that blow up and BMW won't include under the warranty because of the mods. LISTEN, I LOVE M's, but this is getting a little ridiculous.

Yeah...I'm extremely excited about seeing the Military Car Sales numbers. I've looked at their prices on M5's and M6's and they're outstanding. Should be good on the M3 as well.

You're probably dreaming. The current E46 M3 is priced at ~$49k. How can the E92 M3 start from $50k-$53k? Look at the coupe: $3.2k difference. Now for the M3 which is the super high demand car, I'll be really happy if it'll start ~$55k...then the E90 M3 can start at $53k.

So far the price has risen by 20-25% in every country over the E46, but you do now get Nav in the UK where it has gone up 25%, not sure if it is included in the Netherlands??

So I would guess that once you have added Nav you will see a base price increase of around 20% over the base price of the E46.

How much was the E46 base price??

I missed Pretenders post saying the base price of the E46 is $49k, so add 20% on to that and you will be looking at around $60k base, around $66-70k with some toys.

This still makes it around 30% cheaper than anywhere else, if you get it for less than that I would be very surprised.
