Wasn't it just last March that Century West BMW in North Hollywood was selling an M3 Coupe for $30,000 over MSRP? How things have changed in SoCal in less than 2 months.

Will Shaw is a great guy, I exchanged emails with him when I was getting ready to put down a deposit and he answered all my questions promptly. If you want no pressure Will Shaw is the guy to go to. Sadly, I went with a dealer closer to my location as it was more convenient for me.

Heheheh - the truth is - the market is down - sales are down - my income is down - and we need to do what we can to create business.

The people that just don't pay MSRP for anything might now have a shot at picking up a nice M3

In this economy I still found it hilarious that they would mark it up by $30 grand. Like things were any better two months ago.

I bet it was probably a publicity stunt but it was a guaranteed way of NOT getting sales.

dude in irvine someone parked his car in front of me, dropped 20k markup on like the first week, without even test driving the car and he just took off.

in irvine, west hollywood, newport u can easily pull this markup shit and strangely enough u'll have a buyer.

in any case a dealer can say 30k markup, then make u feel very happy if u buy it at 20 or 10k markup... or even 2k markup. heck my CA tells me i got a good deal just coz i got it at MSRP. what kinda shit is that?

that's not a good deal, that's not giving me a deal at all. that's full price. speaking of which... YO WILL u wanted to give me a sedan for 2k markup huh?? lol

Creiver is ok - depends on your CA. I would ONLY buy there from Judy Ray.

None of them have 19's except the convertible.

If that car had a CF roof it probably would have been sold 5 times by now

Personally dont have a very good experience with Long Beach BMW. They were telling me a few months back they would give me a sweet ass deal by giving me $15k over msrp.

I heard from ppl that they have a shady sales practices as several of my good friends told me that they bumped ppl of their waiting lists and tried to stiff them with ridicoulous mark ups.

Looks like you guys are hurting if you guys are unloading that many brand new M3's under sticker.

I remember PM'ing Will a while back to see if he could help me get mine...never got a response, oh well. Don't think I'll ever try Long Beach again.

Epacy said it best..."Why is it so hard to get someone to take my 70k?"

These cars aren't moving as fast as the dealerships originally thought they would. The dealer mark-up is a thing of the past. The just-introduced M3 Convertible doesn't appear to be moving very quickly either. My dealer just posted one on Craig's List with no mark-up:

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/car/683634307.html

I'm considering using this to renegotiate my price. At the time I placed my order (a little over three weeks ago) my dealer said they would "waive" the mark-up since I was a repeat customer, and that it was a great deal. Now they're advertising (on Craig's List, no less) the 'vert to anyone who wants it (sans mark-up) so I'm essentially considered the same as any non-repeat customer.

Is it unreasonable for me to ask them to renegotiate? Maybe throw in some other stuff, or drop the price since I'm a repeat customer?
