Transmission overheat E93
Hi,
I have a 2010 E93, with 63,000 miles. A few months back I got a message on the car saying "Transmission Temperature; Avoid repeated starts and driving for long periods below walking speed if possible. Continued driving possible" Took car to BMW and after diagnosis, they recommended replacing the entire SMG transmission at a cost of over $5000. They didn't consider any issues like low tranny fluid, or sensors etc. Just an immediate overhaul, and then said they don't know if that will fix the issue because the error codes were very vague. Car is not tracked or ever driven hard and always taken care of. Has anyone else ever had this message and what did the repair end up being? Thanks very much. |
