Square 11x18 on e9x M3? Anybody?
Hi guys,
I'm looking for a couple of ideas on a 11x18 square setup. Anybody running it? Thx a lot and greetings from Germany. # Luke

I know many guys running 18x10 or 19x10 square but never saw anyone running that wide. But would be interesting so do it and let us know how it feels For me 11 is too big for the front..

That would be highly dependent on your suspension setup and the tire.
I run 10.5x18et25 square on JRZ RS2's with -3.2 degrees of camber, 3mm spacers and some tires fit and some don't. 275 NT01 fits. 275 Maxxis RC1 won't (rubs the spring). Even the ones that "fit" still rub the fender liner at full lock. With an 11" rim, I assume you'd want to run an even wider tire like a 285 or 295 which would take up even more room. |

Currently I do have 10x18 ET25 with 10mm spacers so a 10x18ET15. A 11x18 ET25 with a 15mm spacer will move 3mm towards the damper but then it's +23mm on the outside which is nearly +1inch...

I'm running square 10.5 et27 on two E9X M3s.
I need a 3mm spacer up front to clear the spring perch which is located right by the wheel's rim. If I did not run a helper spring (or ran a 4.5" front spring vs my 5") then it would be easy to move the perch out of the way and run my setup with no spacer. I'm sure it can fit, although by then you'll probably remove the fender liners as well. |

I think you're going to start having some interference problems at the rear of the fenders depending on the tire, the fender liners are just the "canary in the coal mine" there's a body seam right behind them that might needs some clearancing once you push the edge of the tire out about 15mm further than on a 10J wheel. With a 285/30-18 or around that size it might be fine though, assuming camber is sufficient to keep the fenders happy
No doubt a 275 or 285 is going to be happier on an 11" wheel than a 10" wheel though. If you're trying to find a little more front tire life and speed, might be some there. Though I think you'll trade some loss of steering feedback with the increased front track and no suspension geometry changes, that's nearly a full 1.5" more front track than stock and the scrub geometry will be a little weirder than your 10's

I'm running 18x10.5 +20 square with 285/30/10 FZ01 tires on KW CS with the shorter 5.5" eibach ers springs (inc helper springs). The spring perch sits high enough to avoid tire rubbing. I also don't need wheel spacers! No rubbing anywhere even at full lock!

I run square 18x10.5 ET 27. Works well.
Not sure I could get an 11" in the front to work! |

I was going to sell them but, decided to man up and buy proper front offset wheels to fit the wide rubber without the need for spacers. Waiting for my upcoming track day to test them out.

I don't see how an 11 could possibly fit. I have seen a lot of people with 10.5's. I'm currently attempting to fit 10 et 15 with 285/30/18 hoosiers and PSCup2's. My coil-overs reduce inner clearance like KW but I'm trying to avoid removing the helper spring and a shorter spring isn't really an option with the Ohlins (TTX) suspension design. That being said, I'm hoping that around -3.5 camber will get me there. Here's a pic with the wheels and -3.3 camber. I think this will be a challenge for the hoosiers. I'm reasonably confident that I can make the cup2's work. Any thoughts from those who have been down this road?

I can get it to work with ET27 wheels. I use a 3mm spacer to clear the spring perch (running helper springs) but with ~-2.2 camber or so which is what I use on the street it doesn't rub on the outside like yours looks like it wants to do
ET15 is insane! |

It's been done, it just doesn't make much sense to do so.

10 et15 is perfect with 265 or 275 tires and my level of camber. The 285 hoosiers are presenting a challenge (not surprised considering the dimensions of that tire). Here's a pic of the front fitment with 10 et15 and 265/35/18 PSCup2's: Untitled by slicerM, on Flickr
