UPDATE:
For those asking about the very latest, tuner protected BMW software for the E9x M3: The only difference will be the read/write times are extended, as we write over more details than previously. This means the process takes longer and has more draw on your battery. Because of this we require customers to have some sort of battery conditioner/charger that supplies over 12-13V. Thanks! Paul |

Feel free to PM me if you want feedback from the real world. Everything Paul has said up to this point in the thread has been 100% accurate, but he forgot to mention they answer emails at all hours of the day and night. Probably self-preservation, that...
Great support.

spent 2 hours yesterday uploading the software to my car, thank god i have a battery charger. This will write a 5mb file to your laptop, this is then your original ECU file. Hopefully Sal sends me today the tuned file.

Yea its a big 'ol file, BMW didn't want to make it easy for us that's for sure. Definitely need that charger. Still, its just a little longer and it'll be worth it |

Of course! Although please, during the read and write process, don't have any electrics going in the car as per the manual. You can of course, otherwise, run the car electrics as normal. |

One other thing to make sure of, guys, make sure you disable the sleep timer on your laptop. having it go to sleep while it is reading is probably not an issue, but if it did while writing, that would be Seriously Bad.

Hi Paul,
Once a locked car has been unlocked and tuned, is the flash procedure the same as the faster old way??

Nope, it will always be the same procedure as we are overwriting a large portion of the ECU |
