I like it alot, but waiting on the engine specs and pricing. I may put down a deposit if someone has an allocation.

Absolutely, but that's true with almost all cars. As dad used to say "Never buy the first model year!" Wise words. I briefly contemplated postponing my E92 purchase in favor of the M4, but decided against it for that reason. Right now I have the most polished version of the E92 M3 available, in about 3-4 years once the M4 hits its ZCP/LCI moment, I'll be ready for another trip to the Welt

I thought the M cars are f80/82 and the regular 3/4 series are f30/32?

I've never believed that since I've never had major issues from the first year models I've owned, plus it'd be under warranty.

My 2011 M3 had a leaking tranny that was eventually replaced and it was well into its product lifecycle. And this is the biggest issue out of all my BMWs. Luckily it didn't cost me anything but a few trips to the dealer.

I've never had major issues from the first year models I've had (only had 1 bad e92 fuel pump in my 335), plus it'd be under warranty.
Sure, but that doesn't speak to mdosu's points about LCI/ZCP either. I'm not saying the M4 will be a lemon by any means, just that it won't be fully "polished" until the LCI. If the M5's comp pack is any indication, a similar M4 comp pack may add more than looks, it will likely also add power. Thereby turning early adopters into the new "Civic" drivers.

If the LCI has more power, I can guarantee it won't produce or cost as much as an aftermarket tune. ZCP was nothing more than a different set of wheels and a few mm lowered suspension. Plus, if you keep waiting for each year to be more polished than the next, you'd never buy a car It's just like a computer, once you buy one, there's already a newer, shinier version.

I am shooting for 991 c2s or c4s. I was hoping for a gt3, but no allocation and too hard core for me. I am more capable of a 991 in 3 cylinder config. j/k

but if the m4 looks really good, I will want that too. <---my bank account

btw, I am coming to Williamsburg in Oct. 5th, Bush Garden. yeahhhh!!!!!!!!!
