I'm thinking around greenbrier vally. The best I can find there is the Fairfield Marriott: http://www.marriott.com/fairfield-in...-tour/intro-4/

Looks nice.

When do you guys think plans will be firmed up? I'd be happy to help if there is anything I can do.

The date is set for October 15-16 so go ahead and make your plans accordingly! Looks like we'll have at least 11 cars but there will most likely be between 15-25 if history is a good indication of anything.

The Hotel may be the Fairfield Marriott. Let me know if you have a better idea or know of a better hotel in the Greenbrier Valley. I'll make another post once I have time.

A search online did not bring any available rooms for those dates at Fairfield Inn, Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn. My search was with regard to hotels in Lewisburg checking in Sat Oct 15, check out Sun Oct 16.

With regard to tips-considering my wife will be a driving as well-she suggested we stop by a winery (if there is one along the way) on saturday sometime. This would give the drivers and the cars to cool off in between the spirited driving.

Considering the one night stay-its a mini-vacay and a chance to discover parts of virgina and eastern west virginia at a spirited pace.

Hopefully-there's ample gas stations along the way as well

Dates sound good. Looking forward to it.

Guess we should all hold off on hotel until a place has been set?

You're right. I just called and was told that there's a lot of weddings going on that weekend and they are booked... We may need to change overnight locations. Also, this may mean that there's going to be traffic on the usually empty roads. Hopefully everyone sticks to the highways though I kind of doubt it

I'm maxed out here at work, if anyone wants, see if they can find a hotel around the southern WV area that has at least 15 rooms? I can modify the route to suit.

Is it worth considering trying to make a day trip out of it considering the lack of rooms? I don't really know the roads out there so I can't really offer anything on the locations.

Why don't we do the weekend of Oct 8-9. At this time-it seems like the best option and we may get rooms.

That sounds like a decent option. Probably beats competing with weddings and the potential traffic associated with them.

i voted for 15-16th, but i'd be down for a 1 day event on any weekend given the hotel situation seems to be bleak.

There's hotel availabilty in Lewisburg (Holiday Inn Express and Hampton Inn). Not as hopeless as thought.

Btw, I think having a wedding reception in close proximity to hot BMW's is a reciepe for epic win, just sayin.

So it's looking like the weekend of the 15th or a day trip on the 15th?

I voted oct 22-23 since I will be out of the continent the first two weekends.

Made it last year and it was a blast! My car is finally in shape and can really go all out this time around!

My wife wants to come along as well. (She wants to see what the fuss is all about). Oct 8-9 works best for us at this time.

Who will make the ultimate call on this in terms of setting a date etc?

I'm good for the 8th/9th or 22nd/23rd. I am going to the Eagles/Skins game on the weekend of the 16th.
