radar detectors and collision avoidance systems

Is there any radar detector out that doesn't go off when it goes by a car with collision avoidance systems. As these systems get more and more prevalent, it is becoming really annoying. I was on a 2 hour highway drive today and my V1 was going off all the time. Seems to be usually set off by an Audi or an Infiniti. It starts reading like 5-6 threats at a time. It was so intrusive that the detector was basically worthless for my entire drive.

What band was being set off? Could have sworn the same thing was happening to me the other day with a Porsche (set off the K-band incessantly). Btw, I have the Passport 9500

I have a V1, and mine doesn't go off that much, have you tried changing modes on the V1.

Well I don't want to kill the sensitivity on K band. Was just wondering if the latest offerings from Bel or escort have this issue or not.

Question

It is definitely annoying, and I also experience it primarily with Audi/Infiniti with my V1. I believe Lexus uses laser? Silver lining is that it has been restricted to K band which are usually false alarms in my area...

Here's a potential stopgap: Does anyone who is using the V1 connection be able to chime in on whether these types of alarms are "outside the red zone"?

(see "arrow in the box" http://www.valentine1.com/v1info/v1connection/)

Some Bel and Escort detectors have TSR (Traffic Sensor Rejection). It has been reported by some that turning this feature on helps get rid of falses from vehicle lane-change assist and active cruise controls. The analogous feature in the V1 is called TMF (Traffic Monitor Filter) and may also help.

Cheers.

Very interesting. OP does not live in an affected area, though

It doesn't matter the area he lives. The TSR/TMF features seem to help against vehicle auto-cruise and lane-change-assist features as well as traffic sensors.

Cheers.
