M3 vs. C63 AMG Coupe...
So today im driving my DD (Old IS300) in NYC when all of a sudden i hear the sound of AMG music... I look and its a C63 Coupe which seemed like a black edition, but i didnt see the black series badge which led me to think it was a C63 with some aftermarket "black series" kit... I could be wrong but the point is that this car Looked/sounded AMAZING. Those extra wide fenders had me like At that point I asked myself... Should i consider one of these after i've spent 2-3 years with my current E92??? (I don't really intend on upgrading to the 2014 M3/4 as of yet.)
Soooo I came home tonight and searched online and found this M3 vs C63 AMG comparison; http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...g-coupe-page-2 Obviously its not black series in the comparison but i wouldn't consider a black series C63 due to its much higher price tag (i'd much rather get into a Porsche for that price)...but how about a normal C63 with a black series kit? Would any of you current e9x owners consider the C63 AMG coupe if hypothetically speaking you could swap it for your e9x right now? Facts: C63 has more torque & more horse power than an M3 and sounds better stock. Not to mention it's got a really nice interior & looks VERY appealing with that black series kit. Lets get some opinions!!! Some images for your reference:

On a more serious note, the C63 is a beast.

Nope. As much as I respect and admire the C63, which I drove prior to buying the M (although not on a track) , I still prefer my M. I 'm not sure how to explain it but I sort of feel more "connected with the car" in the M, among other things. I like the looks of the M better also, but that's a matter of taste anyway.

You honestly can NOT go wrong with either car. Both will make you go "from 6 to Midnight" lol. I'm fortunate to have an M3. I would be fortunate to have a C63. Respect isn't lost for one because I own the other.
Perfect combo for me would be either a E90 M3 Sedan for a DD and then a C63 Black Series for the weekend OR a C63 AMG Sedan for a DD and a M3 GTS for the weekend. |

I drove a 2009 C63 for three years before my M3. I like them both. I agree with GIdriver regarding connectedness. The M3 is lighter and feels lighter and handles a little bit better. But the feeling of the handling is much better. I liked the C63 exhaust tremendously. I like the free and high revving of the S65 engine though better. I definitely like the M-DCT over the 09 automatic. The DCT has been the biggest part of the M3's fun for me over the C63.
These cars are really close in terms of overall fun though. I could be quite happy with a 2013 C63 AMG coupe with the performance package. |
