too late for an exhaust?

So i virtually never post on this thing, but with a random morning off i feel compelled to.

i have a 2008 MT E92 M3 that is completely stock with 68k on it. i never mod cars (usually for concern of potential resale) but i dont see myself wanting to get rid of this car.. i like the sound of the F82 less than the E92, and sound is a dealbreaker for me. question is, am i too late to get an exhaust ? the akrapovic GT4 sounds like something i'd want but hard to rationalize with a car that is 7 years old to spend 6k or whatever it is.. maybe if i could find a used one i'd be more inclined. any ideas where to find? i'm in southwest Georgia, 100 mi from atlanta

thanks for any input

Too late for an exhaust...? No man, as said never too late but will give that little extra freshness you need after a while.

If careful budget - Go OEM exhaust and call it a day...

Oem exhaust mod should cost you no more than 200 dollars. 3-4k is a lot to spend for someone who doesn't mod. You'll be more than happy with the OEM MOD.

There are a bunch of used M Performance Exhaust systems (MPE) in the classifieds now. Under $2000 and you'll have OEM fitment and a nice refined sound.

$6k? Heeecckk no.
You can mod on a budget with e90's these days!

Take their advice.
Look into the OEM...as well as other used options.
The used Corsa is not a bad exhaust either. I have 5k miles on mine....and love it.

Let us know what you decide to buy.

You can also sell the exhaust even if the car is old.

Just did the 4 pipe OEM mod. Definitely sounds a lot better, but I want something a bit louder.

Neither the oem mod or the akrapovic will give you the nascar-like sound you are looking for. Maybe a gintani race or meisterschaft, but it's waaaaaay more $$$.

Considering it's an '08 I would imagine $6K is about 20% of the entire value of the car. There is no way I would do that. I would find a cheaper option or at the very least, buy used.

Def too late. The car is settled in and the parts are in perfect harmony. You def don't want to disrupt that by adding new pieces to a vital component.

the settled in theory sounds plausible. lol

bushum i tend to think along those lines too, but i do want it to sound great.. dont need performance gains per se but just for the car to sound meaner

warp10 and cognitive i'l pm u guys, let me do a little more investigation. one of the guys at an indy shop in the outskirts of atlanta swore by the corsa exhaust
