1200 Mile Service - 6spd fluid change

Is there a way to get a hard copy documentation of what was done at the 1200 mile service? I'm curious because I called my local BMW(Niello BMW in Sacramento, CA) to see if the tranny fluid was changed. They indicated that it was not... then referred me to the actual dealer who did the service to confirm. I did that and it was East Bay BMW but the service advisor just quickly said it was done and its routine and was done. I asked if I could get a hard copy faxed to me so i can see he said he couldnt do that and I would need to contact BMW of North America.

Can I get this info from my local BMW to verify that it was actually changed or do I have to contact BMW of North America?

I'm just skeptical because I have two conflicting responses

Garage List
It was on my receipt...Oil change and manual transmission fluid change were both noted as I recall and there were little service codes indicating what was done. Now it's in the three ring binder I keep in my trunk as the first entry after the Window sticker. 2nd entry was the 1 quart of oil I added myself at 7700 miles...I'm surprised they can't send you a copy of the receipt paperwork...

Search "1200 miles service".
You'll find the actual BMW Doc # so you can ask you dealer to look at the document.
LSD, Tranny fluid (6 speed) and oil must be changed. Most of dealers don't replace air filter since it's pretty new.

I have the "doc #." parts number etc... (from the sticky) i'm just trying to get a hardcopy documentation with a part number or something indicating that the tranny fluid was changed because I had gotten two conflicting answer about my tranny fluid being changed.
One SA said yes it was done the other said no it was not.

I just called BMW NA and they said that they could not release that info to me...

Ask dealer to open the doc and read it again then if they still believe you don't have to have tranny fluid changes, ask them to send YOU a copy of proof. Or call other dealer to confirm (make sure to get a dealership name and SA name when you call).

I'll just go into my local service department and see if they can confirm part# or help me i dont want to have to drive to Pleasanton.
If they cant... i'll just live with it and assume it was changed

My car was a dealer demo... when i bought the car brand new a few months ago it was already passed the 3k mile mark so I dont know the service history... that is what started this whole process... trying to figure out if the tranny fluid was changed.

I purchased the car from Weatherford in Berkley but found out that East Bay BMW was the one that did the service.... weird

This is why I do all my own maintenance. You know it was done and dealers are rip offs.

What is the oil change interval? If less than 10K does changing the tranny and diff fluid every 3 oil changes seem excessive to anyone else?

The dealer in here refused to change transmission oil cause its not needed. Talked with techs many times and they showed me the service computer which also indicates its not needed.
After that, I sent an e-mail to BMW AG for telling them to change my transmission fluid on my e92 m3. They sent a reply to me which states that will take care of my problem. And I got a reply from Germany which states its not needed to change transmission oil on my car. Now, I am shocked.

Seems this is an ongoing issue and seems BMW is constantly updating their service bulletins for the m cars. I just had my 1200 mi service today and have the following part numbers on my invoice:

6 83-22-0-406-941 1/2 LITER:832512
3 83-22-1-467-993 DIFFERENTIAL OIL: 832512

1 11-42-7-837-997 SET OIL FILTER
ELEMENT:114010
9 07-51-0-009-420 OIL 10W60:832511
1 83-12-0-405-186 WINDSHIELD WASHER
ANTIFREEZE:831510

MICROFILTER not changed

A lot of conflicting opinions about the 6pd trans oil and I'm fairly sure mine as done. Can anyone clarify? My SA wasnt sure when I mentioned 3 fluids changed but he did some research and called around for me. I'm somewhat confident with the work that was done but would like anyones 0.02 that has had their service done recently. Thanks guys

Took my car if for the 1200 mile service and they didn't change the MT fluid. After going home and reading on here, I called and gave them the SIB numbers and they told me to bring it back in as it was an oversight.

The SIB number listed (SA @ BMW looked it up) is for new car prep and has nothing to do with M3 gear box oil. Could someone provide the correct SIB or was the content of the SIB just wishful thinking? Those of us with MTs are obviously interested in understanding the facts.
