AVIN Retro fit for 2008 M3 Coupe/E92

Hi: AVIN has a unit on sale for 399 for retrofit of 2008 M3 with CCC interface.
Is this really any good or will it ruin the vehicle?

avin are good units - not sure about this specific one, though i too am interested...

Thank you for your reply. I was impressed with this upgrades while also maintaining original CCC as well. I think it best to get a professional install but don't know anyone in South Central PA.

There are some easy how to install videos. Takes about 2 hours start to finish. My friend installed 7.1 3 weeks ago and loves it. He doesn’t use car play nor has logic sound in his 08. I am going get one my self but am hesitant due to supposed issue with sound going thru the aux. I have logic sound and don’t want to lose the quality.

Does anyone know if you can run a Headphone Amplifier with these units? I just ordered one, I know the sound is going to suffer. Does it send all the sound signal through the 3.5 jack under the armrest? I plan to run a DAC Amplifier to see if it will help the sound. I had one about 4 years ago and got rid of it due to the sound. I hope this idea of mine helps

Was watching a video of someone reviewing one last night and he said he used a headphone amp and it helped the sound a bit but it still lacked a bit of bass. This was in a 3xx though not an M3 if that makes any difference.

Also I see that the android 8.1 versions are about to come out if anyone else is looking at picking one of these up soon.

Thank you. Good to know. I've seriously considered the AVIN unit, but the more I read, I find that the 7.1 has software and audio issues. I also see that the 7.1 units are on sale, so It may be that they are getting ready for the new 8.1 version.
