19" Curb Rash | Cupertino area repair?

I rashed my front rim. It is not that bad but I they are all perfect. Any recommendations for a good repair shop near Cupertino / Palo Alto / Menlo Park / Redwood City?

From my experience, the wheel repair places around here SUCK. Stevens Creek BMW tried to repair one of mine (when the car was new) and they took a polished wheel (the factory 19s) and painted part of it. Looked horrid. Wheel Techniques did a horrible job on one of my SSRs.

If it's not super deep, one option would be to sand it down and powder coat them. West Coast Powder Coating in South SF does a fantastic job and they can media blast them for you, as prep which will hide most scratches.

Just replace the rim, man. How expensive can it be - $500-600? It's nothing.

Chirped Rim (even repaired) reduces resale and especially trade-in value by about $300-400. So you'll pay one way or the other. If you replace the wheel at least you'll have a nice looking car while you still have it.

BTW, if $500 seems like a big deal you obviously drive a car you can barely afford. I could get fully loaded GT3 but I decided to buy M3 just to have comfort of not thinking that some unpredicted expense that may come with the car could hurt me.

dude why would he pay $500 for a new wheel when he can get it fixed. what does not wanting to spend $500 to fix wheel have to do with being able to afford the car?

Your arrogance is amazing.

I love how you assume that I can't "Afford" a car because I would refuse to buy a new rim due to curb rash. I wouldn't buy a new rim, I would fix it. I know America is the "Throw away nation", but junking something that can be fixed is retarded. Unless the item in question is beyond economical repair, fixing is always my first choice.


To the OP, I do remember seeing some posts about a guy who was a "Magician" with curb rash, but I can't remember if he was in So Cal or Nor Cal. Maybe do a thread search, I think he had a brother who did body work.
